It had only taken her a few hours from sitting at her desk in her office, to be half way up a hill. She had taken a cab from her office, dropping her off outside Woodland Town. Much of her work had been finished, so a little break was on the books. She had her mobile with her, available almost instantly if any Order members had business for her.
Her shoes stuck in the mud and it took some effort to trudge up the hill but she ploughed on. Tak, her newly acquired Skorupi followed her. He had less of a problem in the terrain than Nes but was content to scuttle a few paces behind her until she chose to sit down on a rocky outcrop. Her breathing was heavy, physical activity like this wasn't her strong point but she felt for Tak's sake more than anything else it would be best to get out of the Order complex, give him some fresh air and a chance to battle. The blue insect was clearly excited to be out as he scurried around the plateu, carefully investigating behind every rock, in ever nook and cranny for something to do.
"You be careful down there, Tak" Nes warned, her voice stern and unforgiving. "The last thing I need is for you to get yourself hurt.". <Skorrrr!> he chirped happily, poking his head up from behind a rock to stare at Wednesday. His face lit up with delight. Despite her sounding disinterested, Nes cared deeply for the pokemon and it made him happy inside to hear it - even if it didn't sound caring to anyone else listening. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Complete! "Gligar? Where'd you go Gligar?"
A trainer's cries for his Pokemon could be heard all around the area. Of course, Lucas was a loud individual, so he probably would've been heard regardless of if he was screaming or not. Lucas's hair was blowing whenever the wind picked up, which scared him. Not his hair, who would be scared of their own hair? He was scared because anytime wind currents picked up, Gligar could catch one and ride far away from where Lucas was. Lucas thought about it for a moment, then shook his head. "Nah, Gligar's my starter. He would never leave me..." Lucas sighed, and reached into his back pocket, and pressed the center button. A white beam emerged from the red and white ball, and the beam formed a Seedot.
"Alright Seedot, I'ma need you to help me find Gligar. Just look around the area" Lucas said as he turned to look behind a rock. Seedot stared at Lucas, then looked up. Gligar was flying high, and headed towards a hill. Seedot watched Gligar for a moment, then turned to Lucas. He walked {or waddled, whatever Seedot do} towards him, then tapped him on the leg with his foot. "What do you want Seedot!? Look for Gligar!" Lucas yelled at his Pokemon as he continued to look. Seedot stared at his trainer, then turned around, walked over to a tall, shady rock, and sat down in the cool shade while Lucas continued to look around.
Gligar was flying high, looking around at the area. He saw a nice rocky outcrop, and he landed on one of the rocks below Nes and Tak. However, since the Skorupi was going further and further down the path, he would see Gligar eventually. Gligar turned around, and noticed a person. Then he looked around some more and saw the Skorupi before it could see him. <Hiya!> The Gligar said happily to the Skorupi.

Tak was a little startled, stopping mid step down the path. <Huh? Who's there?> he called, twirling around wildly. <Ohmygod it's a ghost. Nes is gonna freak - it's a ghost!> he paniced, frantically searching for the voice. Spying something purple, he edged forward gently. "Hiya!" The purple pokemon surprised him, popping up from behind its rock. Head cocked left to right, <What are you? Are you a ghost? Am I dead? OH DEAR I'M DEAD AMENT I? NES IS GOING TO KILL ME!>. It was unfortunate for the Gilgar, that though Skorupi was a good pokemon, he was also a overreactive.
"Tak! What is all that racket?" Nes shouted, barely eyeballing the pokemon anymore. Rolling her eyes, a tad over dramatically, she got up from the rock, dusting herself off and setting off down the trail. A little bit wobbly on her heels, she waddled with arms outstretched, hoping Lucas couldnt see her - for fear of looking stupid. Ever the professional, she didn't want to be seen unsteady. "What are you doing?" the woman asked, looming over Skorupi, hands on her hips.
<I'm afraid I have bad news!> Tak looked sad as he peered up at his trainer. <I'm dead. The ghosts have come for my soul>. It took a significant amount of effort for Nes to stiffle a laugh. Did he really think he was dead and this Gligar was here for his soul? As much as she loved the little fellow, her initial idea of having a powerful and formidable pokemon partner to serve the order seemed to be out of the window completely. In a perfect world, her partner would have seen the strange lone pokemon and leapt straight into a battle, taking the element of surprise but here he was getting himself all worked up before a battle had even started. Violet eyes drifted from Tak to the Gligar, waiting to see what it would do next, holding fire on the order for Tak to attack for the time being. As soon as the Gilgar proved to be a threat, she'd make her move.

<Hm?> Gligar cocked his head to the side, wondering why the Skorupi was so terrified. He watched as the Pokemon's trainer came over to them, and a big grin crept across his face to hold back the laughter when the trainer stumbled. The Gligar looked at Tak, then looked at Nes. He then looked past Nes, to the top of the hill to see a Seedot looking down on all of them. Gligar squinted his eyes, then smiled even more when he realized that that wasn't a wild Seedot. <Hey! Where'd you guys go!?> Gligar called past the trainer and her Pokemon to the Seedot.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the hill...
"Dammit!" Lucas let out a nice slew of curse words, looking up in the sky for his Pokemon. Seedot turned around to his trainer, who was frantic and getting worried. "Seedot." It let out a small cry of it's name, causing Lucas to look. "What are you doing up there!? Come down here and help me look!" Lucas demanded. Seedot stared at his trainer, then turned back around to the Gligar and the two others. Seedot then jumped from rock to rock, down the outcrop and soon right next to Gligar. "Hey, wait! Come back here!" Lucas ran up the hill, and jumped over the top, only to realize at the height of his jump that the other side was very rocky. By the time he realized this, it was too late.
Lucas landed on his feet on a flat rock, but he lost his balance and fell of that rock and rolled down the hill. Soon he picked up speed, but he was finally stopped by a rock in his path. He slammed his side right into the rock, and yelled in pain. Gligar quickly flew over to his trainer, and cocked his head to the side and watched as Lucas sat up and clenched his side in pain. Seedot only watched, a blank expression on his face.

Nes had instantly prepared herself for battle as the Gligar moved. Lips parted, the order for Skorupi to attack was on the tip of her tongue before she noticed the other pokemon. She turned round, flicking the purple hair from her eyes to spy the Seedot. Tak perked up, realising he was not in fact going to die. It became evident to her pretty quickly that the Gligar knew the Seedot, leading her to assume they were owned by someone. All her education told her that there was very little chance that a Gligar and Seedot would come together otherwise, being of different types and living in different terrains. Wednesday sighed, there went the chance of legitimately adding the Glilgar to her team. Ofcourse she could steal it. The Order themselves weren't above stealing pokemon to further their cause. But she didnt need to draw the attention to herself doing that just now, beside Tak was still too inexperienced. Perhaps when he leveled up but that would be best left for another time. Shame, he would have made a nice addition to the Skorupi.
Tak had bounded off after Gligar while Wednesday had been in though, prompting her to go after him. Spying the Gligar and Seedot, her eyes drifting to the boy. Obviously in some sort of distress, she knelt down beside him, not above helping an injured boy despite her reputation for being a little cold hearted. "Hey there, are you alright?" she asked with a tilt of her head, giving him a once over for injuries. She had her mobile phone in her briefcase in case they required an airlift but from a quick check, it seemed like maybe they could make do with the first aid kit she carried in there as well. Having no being able to find any pokemon up here, she was on her way down, she could get him checked over briefly at a hospital on her way back. Hoping for her trip not to be a waste, if the boy proved to be alright, she considered the possibility of having a quick battle before the descent.

Lucas cringed in pain. He opened his eyes to see a lady staring at him. Squinting, he tried to make out who the person was before realizing it was only a random stranger. "Oh, what? Yea, I'll be ok." He didn't want to seem like a punk in front of t he ladies of course, but he was in a lot of pain. He did a good job of hiding it though; he slowly got up, holding his side and doing a quick stretch. Gligar sighed in relief; his trainer would be alright. Seedot only shook his head in embarrassment that that was his trainer. Unfortunately, he would have to move on, as he would be stuck with him for a long, long time.
Lucas closed his eyes and outstretched his arms, then looked at Nes. "I'll be fine. Don't worry about it. Thanks though." He proceeded to lean one hand against the rock, but missed the rock and stumbled, almost falling over again "Heh, you didn't see that." He said, trying to play it off. Gligar and Seedot both shook their heads, and Gligar flew onto Lucas's back, holding on to Lucas by his shoulders. Lucas turned to his Pokemon and smiled, and Gligar proceeded to lick Lucas's face. Lucas laughed, then turned back to the lady. "So, what's your name?" He asked.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay", she said when she was content that his injuries weren't life threatening and he would survive. She just shook her head as he fell over again. If she had been the Seedot, she probably would have felt the same way. He didn't look amused, though Gligar seemed to be a little more amused by the whole thing. Tak had also found it funny and found it hard to wipe the large smile off his face until Nes shot him a glare.
"My name is Wednesday Assyriane" she told him, a certain hint of pride in her voice as she spoke. "And what about you?" the woman asked the boy. "What're you doing all the way up here?" she questioned. "I came searching for some pokemon or a battle, but I found neither". Her tone of voice sounded almost as if she was in a huff about not finding anything; verging on angry. "Though lucky for you, you could have killed yourself up here on your own".

"Hm, a Pokemon battle? I think I can help you with that. My Seedot could use some training, and my Gligar..." He turned to his back, and his Gligar was gone. "Whaa? Where'd he go?..." Lucas spun around, and patted his back. His bookbag was gone too. He spun around again to see his nosy Pokemon digging through it. He ate two Oran berries in there, then noticed something else in the bag. "...Oh crap Gligar wait!" Lucas ran to his Pokemon, but it was too late.
Gligar had found the Razor Fang, and almost immediately after holding it, he began to glow white. His claws got bigger, his tail grew, and his body got a lot bigger. Suddenly, the white aura dispatched, and in it's place was no longer a Gligar, but a full grown Gliscor. "Dammit Glig-...Gliscor! I wanted to wait until you were stronger to give you that fang!" Lucas sighed, and watched as Gliscor looked at himself. He then let out a loud "Gliiiiscooor!", followed by beating it's wings and flying into the air. <I'm a Gliscor! I'm super strong now!> He flew through the air happily, but Lucas shook his head. He turned back to Nes.
"Sorry about that. Pokemon is too nosy for his own good. I wanted to wait for him to get stronger..." He looked at his Gliscor, obviously happy. "...but I guess I'll be ok. So, would you like to battle my Seedot?" He asked Nes. Seedot was staring at the Skorupi, but focused on Lucas when he heard his name called.
Gligar evolved into Gliscor! ----->{No worries. And ignore the Gliscor, I just wanted a thread to evolve it in, and yours just seemed perfect =3}

"Don't worry about it" Nes shrugged off his apology, ducking momentarily as the Gliscor soared over her head. "He seemed to be happy about having evolved" she noted as the pokemon whizzed happily back and forth in the air. At least the Gligar could evolve easily. What she would give for the Skorupi to evolve in the same way. But there was no chance of that; he was going to need to battle his way through 35 levels until he could evolve. And that was certainly going to take some time.
Battle Start
"I would love to battle. Don't hold back, Tak.". Accepting his proposal, she took a couple of steps back away from the pokemon. "He's only level 5, this will be his first battle, so take it easy on him?" she asked, fluttering her womanly eyelashes. Nes knew fine well that Tak could handle himself well enough even at his level. By this time, the little Scorpion had leapt onto a rock, staring at the Seedot, eagerly anticipating the battle.
"Start off with a Poison Sting..." Wednesday ordered him. The pokemon wriggled for a moment, before bringing his tail up over his head, firing a poisoned barb from his tail directly towards Seedot, his sniper ability increasing his aim, hopefully upping his chances of a critical hit if the barb was to hit. He only had two attacks, poison sting and bite but the battle would go a lot quicker and smoother for him if he was able to poison the Seedot right from the off. The added poison would even out the level difference between the pokemon and maybe he would have a chance.

Lucas took a few steps back as well, turning up to his Gliscor for a minute. "I hope evolving you was worth it..." He said to himself. He then turned back to the Seedot and the Skorupi, who were getting ready to battle. Lucas first took out his Pokedex and pointed it at the Skorupi. He was hoping to gain some information on the Pokemon before battling it; maybe something that would lead him to get an advantage.
'Skorupi, the Scorpion Pokemon. It grips prey with its tail claws and injects poison. It tenaciously hangs on until the poison takes. '
"Awesome. Seedot!" Lucas called. "Be careful around the Skorupi's tail!" He yelled to his Pokemon, who nodded. The Skorupi then fired a single poisonous barb. Lucas smirked at the barb got closes and closer to Seedot. Seedot didn't seemed too worried; he seemed to have a lot of confidence in his trainer Lucas. At the last second, Lucas quickly called out "Seedot, Bide!" A white aura quickly formed around the Seedot, and the poison barb hit Seedot head on. It wasn't a critical hit, but it was still super effective against the Seedot. Seedot slid back, and winced in pain. "I know, it's super effective and it hurts. But now release it! Fire it back!" Lucas called.
Seedot nodded, and jumped towards the Skorupi. The white aura had turned purple, and soon the Seedot was engulfed in this purple aura. It completely covered him; you couldn't see his face or anything. Then, from his face he fired a purple beam directly at the Skorupi. The beam was twice as strong as a super-effective Poison Sting, only without the Poison type. This meant if it hit Skorupi, it would hit very hard.

Nes clenched her fist tight as the battle started. The excitement rushed through her body. This was the first battle the pair of them had ever had together, so all the feelings that came with the fight: the adrenaline, the joy, the despair, everything was completely new to her. She watched in anticipation as Tak followed orders, shooting the barb straight at Seedot.
Tak's eyes were fixed on his barb as it shot through the air. Dead on! He felt a little sense of victory as it hit dead on target. It gave him a feeling that this impossible battle may not be so impossible after all. Despite Seedot being several levels higher than him, maybe he could still have a chance. A true underdog story. But perhaps the little scorpion was getting ahead of himself. "Bide!" he heard the male trainer shout and couldn't help but watch as the Seedot was engulfed by a blinding white light. Even though he was hit dead on bullseye with the barb, the Seedot still had enough energy to charge an almost instant attack.
"Get out of the way!" Nes yelled. What was over in an instant felt like an eternity for the Skorupi. The Seedot unleashed the purple beam of energy straight at him. He couldn't move fast enough and could only stare at the light as it came rushing towards him. Making the best jump he could in the time, he flung himself off the rock, though not in enough time to escape injury free. The blast had hit him square in the tailing, knocking him back onto the grounding. Landing with a thud, he tried desperately to get up. His rear end was in agony, it would be rendered completely useless for the rest of the battle. That would rule out his poison sting attack, leaving him with just bite. That would mean he would have to get up close to the Seedot, proving difficult with an injured bum. "Go for it, bite him!" his trainer encouraged. She believed in him. Picking himself up slowly with his claws, he made a run for the Seedot, pincers outstretched to grab a hold of him, aiming for a bite.

Lucas's eyes widened as the Skorupi was hit in it's rear end. It's tail looked like it would be useless for the remainder of the battle, which was excellent news for Lucas and Seedot. That tail would allow the Pokemon to use his super-effective Poison Sting, and that might have turned the battle in their favor. Lucas smiled at his Seedot; all the work he was putting in was making Lucas very happy. Seedot had went from a Pokemon who wasn't so sure about joining Lucas to a Pokemon who was ready to battle at a moment's notice for him.
Lucas shook his head, and realized he had to get back into battle mode. Tak's tail was busted, but Lucas was sure that wasn't the only attack he was hiding up his sleeve. Seedot landed on the ground, the aura that had surrounded him dispersed. Seedot looked like he was breathing heavy, but Lucas was sure Seedot had this. "Don't worry Seedot. I believe in you, and I know you can do this!" He said reassuringly. Seedot looked happy; his trainer believed in him. And that would give him the strength he needed to move on.
Seedot nodded at his trainers words, and he put his angry game face back on. Seedot was a battler by heart, and he wasn't about to quit until he was completely finished. "Alright, Harden Seedot!" Lucas commanded, pointing at his Pokemon. Seedot nodded and another aura coated his body. This time, however, the aura was a silverish color. Seedot's defense had increased, so when the Skorupi had bitten him, it didn't do as much damage as normally{although it still hurt}.
Seedot was grunting, the Skorupi's had bitten his head, and the attack was pushing him back. "Alright, toss him Seedot!" Lucas called. Seedot couldn't nod, but it understood. It was pushing back at the Skorupi who was attached to his head, but it stopped pushing back and stepped to the side. Since the Skorupi would still be pushing, when Seedot swung it's body to the side the Skorupi would hopefully release it's grip and get thrown off of the Seedot.
Gliscor was still flying around in the sky, but stopped when he noticed that there was a battle going on down below. He looked down for a moment, then decided to fly down to get a closer look. He landed next to Lucas, and stared in amazement at Seedot's strength. "Glad you decided to join us down here" Lucas said sarcastically to his Gliscor. His Gliscor only chuckled, now focused on the battle that was going on.

"Don't let him out you off, Tak" Nes shouted. She had a belief in Tak, she knew that he was much more powerful than he appeared to be. There wasn't a chance that the pair of them were going to roll over and give in, that's for sure. Lucas and his trainer seemed to be a strong pair, but Nes knew power wasn't everything. She had a battle plan, keeping her cards close to her chest. Even if she was going to lose, she was going make sure they put up a hell of a fight. They weren't going to get an easy ride.
The skorupi continued his assault, leaping for, claws clamping around the Seedot. It wasn't a sight you wanted to see everyday, trapped in the claws of a Skorupi as it loomed in claws, it's pincers clicking wildly in front of your face as it moved in to bite you. Skorupi's bite landed, though the damage was significantly reduced by the Seedot's harden attack. Tak continued to cling onto the acorn shaped pokemon, his fangs latched into its top. With all his might concentrated on cling onto and pushing the Seedot back, he could do nothing to stop himself from being launched into the air while Seedot swung is body round.
Tak was flung into the air as if he was nothing but a paper doll. Contorting, he done his best to curl up in the air, in hopes to sustain less damage when he fell. Just as he managed to tuck his head beneath his claws, he fell, crashing into the ground and sliding back. Dust and mud kicked up around him, coating him in a cloud, hiding him from the view of Seedot. "Back, Tak!", Nes ordered. Using the cloud as a cover, he managed to crawl to Nes's feet. He lay there, panting for breath, obviously hurting. The woman clicked open her briefcase, swiftly pulling a blue spray bottle from the inside. She sprayed it over Tak's body. As the moisture hit him, it was absorbed. With a burst of yellow light, he was on his feet again with some health restored, capable of carrying on for a little longer. This battle was only just beginning. As she returned the empty bottle to her bag, she pulled out something else. The silver disc shone as it hit the light as she slipped it to the scorpion.
"If you think we're done here, you're mistaken!" Nes called, taunting Lucas. "Use Shadow Ball!". Tak had leapt onto one of the rocks at his trainers command. A ball of dark energy bgean to form between his claws, sucking in more power and expanding in size.

"I guess I'm mistaken then, huh?" Lucas taunted back. He smirked; he was actually in a pretty good position, despite the fact that Seedot was pretty badly beaten up. He might actually have a shot at winning this, and that would mean a lot for him considering this was his first trainer battle. If he could keep this up, there would be a win under his belt. It most definitely wouldn't be easy though, but Lucas didn't mind. Who likes an easy battle anyway?
Back on the battlefield, Seedot took a quick breather; he was taking deep breaths in and out, trying to rest a little before the Skorupi made his next attack. Seedot's eyes quickly widened when he thought about it though. Where was the Skorupi? Seedot looked to where the purple scorpion Pokemon had landed, and when the smoke and dust cleared he was gone. Nervous, Seedot checked his left, his right, and up above the sky. He was almost positive he was going to appear behind him. But if he was behind him, why wasn't he attacking. Seedot was now getting worried; as he didn't want to have to deal with a surprise Bite attack from behind. He didn't want to turn around in fear that this would happen.
Lucas scanned the battlefield for Skorupi. He looked towards Nes, and noticed she was spraying a Potion. That's when he looked towards her feet and saw the Skorupi. "Seedot, come here quickly!" Lucas called. Seedot shook the fear out of his body and quickly hopped over to Lucas. "Here buddy, you deserve some of this too." Lucas reached into his bag and grabbed a potion. He sprayed it all over Seedot, and in a few seconds Seedot had his game face back on. "Alright! Now get back out there and give us a win under our belt!" Lucas said with a big grin stretched across his face. He rubbed Seedot's head playfully, and Seedot quickly turned around and hopped onto a rock, waiting to see what the Skorupi would do next.
As Nes gave Skorupi a TM, Lucas really started to wish that he had a TM to give his Seedot. The only attack he knew was Bide, and that would only help if the opponent attacked. So, if Skorupi didn't attack, he couldn't do anything. Lucas suddenly remembered that he had damaged Skorupi's tail, and that Poison Sting was no longer a factor. This was a good thing for Seedot, who the attack was super-effective to, but it also meant the only attack it could use was Bite, and that would make it hard for Seedot to use Bide. "I hope that TM is an attacking move..." Lucas muttered under his breath.
When he heard Nes say to use Shadow Ball, Lucas gave a sigh of relief. "Alright Seedot, wait. Take a quick rest." Lucas called out. Seedot had already been given a Potion, so the extra rest would help him recharge his batteries. They both then waited for Skorupi to do something with the Shadow Ball that was forming in between his claws.

The boys spirit was commendable. He was neither gone to back off or stand down. Both trainers were too stubborn to give in and so the battle would continue. Thankfully enough, it appeared both pokemon felt the same, itching to get back on the battle field the moment they were sprayed. As Nes tended to Tak, she spied the Seedot retreating to its master, being patched up for round two. It would certainly become interesting now, since Tak had a new move up his sleeve. Both pokemon were clearly ready to go for round two by the looks of steely determination splashed across their faces.
The swirly vortex of dark matter continued to grow in his claws. It grew rapidly to the approximate size of a basket ball and swirled with such ferocity that the skorupi could barely contain it any longer. "Toss it.", Wednesday commanded and the scorpion released the energy ball. It burst from his claws, slow at first, then picking up speed as it traveled straight towards the Seedot.
"Your tricks wont work twice". Tak leapt from the rock, beginning to cover the distance and close the gap between himself and his opponent. She had predicted he would try to use Bide once again, so far it seemed like his only offensive move. Despite the potion, Tak had not recovered fully and his poison sting was still out of action; otherwise it would have been easy for him to shoot both attacks at him from a distance. Now his only other option was bite and he would have to get up close to the acorn pokemon before he could retaliate from the shadow ball. His best option now was to following in the balls path, using it as a distraction to get up close, hopefully landing a crushing bite attack before they were both ensnared by the shadow ball and bide explosion.
