Truthfully Ash hadn't even noticed that Growlithe wasn't there - she had been so busy with the computer and pairing up the pokemon in her computer, and sorting out through her Father's what he'd left behind to her, that she hadn't had time to realise that her best friend wasn't there. Eevee was keeping her company any way, and Ash had given her plenty of attention that the pokemon was quickly growing very attached to her indeed.
The female focused completely on her computer screen as the male finally spoke and she snorted in repsonse, "Technically I'm working for The Ordet - not just Cid." She spointed out, "Anyway, what do you care?" She didn't think he cared at all and that was the problem, "Cid killed my family and I'll never forgive him for it, but there are things that I can get from working for him."

"Like what?" Akhor demanded. He didn't see what offer the man could possibly make that would make it worth while to Ash to actually work for him. She might think that technically it was The Order that she was working for, but she was directly under Cid's advisement and that was all that mattered. In his mind she was working for her Uncle, not the Emperor.
The male found himself suddenly missing the other Ash. The one who was constantly annoying him both with her cheery personality and her constant need to follow him around from place to place. He'd thought he wanted rid of them, but they were much better than this snappy, dreary version of the female that worked for Cid.

"To learn his weaknesses." The female snapped, obviously thinking that should be obvious, "Just because I'm doing him a favour, it doesn't mean that I don't want him dead for what he did to my family." Again she thought that should be obvious. Currently the male was just annoying her, and while before she wouldn't even think about telling him that, and she would continue to be polite, Cid had managed to make her believe that being kind to Akhor was completely pointless. "What are you doing here? You're disturbing me. Besides, I didn't think you liked me."
She clicked a few things on the keyboard, and then spun about in her chair as Eevee leapt from the desk and landed in her lap to be stroked. "Not only is Cid letting me close to him, but he's giving me the oppurtunity to do what I've always wanted to do. I'm a breeder not a trainer." She pointed out, obviously taking a stab at the fact that Akhor had made her battle the night before.

Akhor supposed that made sense. This was just all so weird to him, and he didn't see any reason as a good enough one to align oneself with Cid, and as such hadn't even bothered to try and think of a plausible one, although it seemed that Ash had. The male eyes narrowed as she spoke once more, "Why do you keep saying that?" He asked, "I never said I didn't like you."
He watched as she turned to face him, Eevee coming to settle in her lap. He frowned slightly at her words, and it was clear he didn't appreciate her bringing that up, "Are you seriously still sore about that? Forget it. I'm not going to make you do it again anyways."

Ash snorted slightly at Akhor's response and rolled her eyes, finding his words to be somewhat amusing. "Well you certainly act like you don't." She pointed out, "Are you trying to tell me you do then?" She asked, clearly not believing that he was. Akhor always acted as if she was some sort of parasite he was always trying to get rid of, but all she had wanted from him was his friendship, and perhaps a little more. He wasn't a great guy though, and certainly not very friendly or caring. He only helped her to get back at Cid!
"Anyway, unless there's actually something you wanted from me, I am actually rather busy." That was her way of saying 'get lost'. She was busy and had things to do, and Akhor was distracting her, and annoying her.

Akhor supposed he understood how Ash might assume that he didn't like her. He did, that was what was odd for him, and as such had been trying to avoid letting it show. Perhaps he'd gone a little overboard in trying to do that? And yet, that was how he treated everyone. But he kind of didn't like everyone, so he supposed it made sense that Ash thought he didn't like her. The male's eyes narrowed at her question, and he seemed unsure about how to answer it, or whether to at all.
"Busy, right. Working for Cid." He realized those words were a bit harsh, but it bothered him that she was doing so, "And I don't know what I was trying to tell you... But apparently you don't care to listen."

Ash already knew that Akhor wasn't the nicest person around and he probably didn't know how to communicate with people that he might like, if he liked anyone at all that is. She supposed that maybe listening to Cid was a bad idea, because she knew that he was a liar and good at manipulating people, but at least he never tried to cover up what he'd done. Akhor had lied to her aswell, and used her to annoy Cid so she didn't see why she should like one more than the other. She was just a little bit messed up at the moment.
The female frowned and looked away, rolling her eyes in regards to Akhor's words. Yes they were harsh and she didn't appreciae it. "I'd listen if you had anything worthwhile to listen to." She snapped, obviously annoyed. "Aren't you happy that I'm not 'annoying' you any more?"

Akhor knew that Ash had been angry at him for what he'd done, what with using her in order to annoy Cid, rather than actually caring for her wellbeing or anything. But he'd thought that she was over that. After they'd taken Growlithe to the infirmary, it had seemed like they were back on good terms. In the very least the female had still been following him everywhere, and was in a good mood, right up until he made her battle that Makuhita.
"What the hell did Cid say to you Ash?" He demanded, knowing all of this had to have been coming from her Uncle, "And what in the world made you actually listen to him? Let alone believe him!"

What Cid had said to Ash had had a major effect on her. He'd drilled it into her head that Akhor was no better than he was, and that she was better off concentrating on what she wanted to get out of life, rather than on him and his lack of feelings. Cid had pretty much figured out that Ash was in love with Akhor, although like her he had no idea why, and he'd also made it seem like the red head would never like her, let alone love her. It was best to just stay away from him.
"What he said is none of your concern." The female snapped, coming to stand, as Eevee jumped off and back onto the desk, "Besides, it's not like it would matter to you. The only person who matters to you, is yourself. I honestly have no idea why this bothers you so much." Akhor was always complaining that she was following him, and now he seemed to not like that she was working for Cid. He wanted to make his mind up!

Of course Akhor's opinion on all of that differed entirely. In his mind he was much, much better than Cid, in many more ways other than just the one that the man had tried to convince Ash of, which was being evil he assumed. He didn't realize how deep the female's feelings were for him however, nor did he even realize his own, and as such couldn't judge whether or not Cid was right about him ever liking, let alone loving, her.
Akhor scowled slightly at Ash's words, feeling almost like he was being reprimanded or something, "It bothers me because Cid is a manipulative conniving jerk who isn't to be trusted!" He snapped, "So I don't understand why you put stock in anything he said."

Ash was completely and utterly confused by all of this, and as such she had been easily manipulated by Cid. She thought her reasons for now working for Cid were now justified, because she got the chance to learn his weaknesses, and because she got to look after pokemon and spend her entire days with them, versus being yelled at by Akhor, which was never any fun. She believed that the red head just had no idea how much he upset her every time he opened his big mouth and said something. It was best staying away from him.
"There you go again!" The female yelled, clearly annoyed as she came to stand before the male, pointing towards the door. "Clearly you're just annoyed because this involves Cid, not because you care at all about me or anyone else. Just go."

Akhor's scowl merely intensified as Ash spoke. She was seriously pissing him off, "Whatever." He half-snarled, his hands curling into tight fists at his sides. Without anther word to her, he turned about and and stepped back through the door, immediately leaving back down in the direction that he'd come from with the intention of returning to his room. Jolteon trailed along behind him, obviously finding this all to be rather annoying.
As did Akhor, as he didn't understand what in the world was wrong with Ash. He'd never work for Cid, and the man hadn't even killed his entire family! He hated him enough not to as it was. Ash had lost it in his opinion, and he wasn't interested in dealing with that at the moment. As he entered his room, Jolteon barely made it through before the male slammed the door, hard.

Perhaps Ash had lost it ... She wouldn't be doing this otherwise. As it were she was working for Cid, because he'd manipulated her, and was getting her to do things for him by using her guilt, and her emotions against her. The female didn't see it that way though as she watched Akhor leave and then promptly returned to her work a moment later, sitting back at her desk and beginning to type rather quickly. She was matching up the available pokemon she had to use in order to get certain egg moves and such. Cid had asked her to.
The female was still working like this a week later. She'd had barely any sleep, having worked until the early hours, and well through the night. Eevee had so much attention and love spent on her that she had evolved into Espeon, but was not with her currently - instead the pokemon was off searching the ship, as she happened to be a rather curious pokemon. She also wanted to take a bath. Growlithe wasn't any where to be seen either, as lately he had taken to following Akhor around. He still sat outside Ash's room and cried on occassion however. Right now though he was elsewhere.
Currently Ash was slumped over her desk, half asleep, with an empty cup of coffee beside her on the desk. She looked a little disheveled as things went, like she had been working too much. And she had. Cid had worked her like a slave.

Jolteon was asleep, and Akhor had no intention of waking him up. He wanted a private conversation with Ash, not one that if things got testy would involve the pokemon growling or even attacking her. As such, he slipped out of the room as quietly as he could manage and closed the door behind him, making his way down toward Ash's room. He hadn't seen Growlithe yet that day, although the pokemon had taken to following him about.
He didn't bother to knock on Ash's door, and simply pushed it open, noting that she was asleep on her desk. He raised an eyebrow, and shook his head gently, obviously finding this to be a ridiculous seen. He entered the room, making his way over toward the desk. He didn't bother to wake her, but rather grabbed the mouse, clicking on several things until a page come up with the matches Ash had made of Cid's pokemon.

The female did not wake as the door was opened, and instead remained quite still upon the desk, breathing softly. She wasn't in a really deep sleep, but more of a trance - she was clearly exhausted as she'd been working non stop the last few days matching up various pokemon, seeing to the eggs and making sure they were healthy. Looking after the mother pokemon as well was hard work because some of them were a little testy, considering they were Cid's pokemon and before now they had not been expected to be nice to Ash.
Although the female did not wake at Akhor's entrance, she stirred as the mouse clicked. The screen showed the matches she had made - Mightyena and Arcanine, Ninetails and Blaziken and then his pokemon matched with other unknown ones, which actually belonged to Ash. She just hadn't told Akhor this. They were - Persian and Houndoom, Sharpedo and Ditto. Lastly she had her own matched together - Milotic and Gyarodos, Charizard and Dragonite, Absol and Ditto2. They already had the eggs ready, sitting over in an incubator.
Finally the female's eyes began to shudder and then open and the first thing that caught her eye was the sight of the screen, which she didn't remember leaving open, and then a hand on the mouse which didn't belomg to her. She forced herself into a sitting position, and turned about to glare at Akhor. "What are you doing in here?" She asked.
