Fiona was feeling pretty good. Her pokemon were all fine, it was a nice and sunny day. But she still felt odd. Oh yeah, her farm was standing still! Nothing was really happening, so she had decided to go out for the day. She closed and locked up the farm and hailed a taxi to Summer Town. She hadn't been there before, and she had heard that the Crystal Lake Path and Crystal Lake were beautiful! She had packed up a small picnic, a fishing pole, and her pokemon were safe in their pokeballs. She drove to Summer Town, enjoying the wonderful climate and the sparse, albino cotton candy fluffs of clouds in the sky. The sun's rays sparkled and twinkled on the water, making Crystal Lake look even more amazing then in the pictures. Today was going to be good.
Before Fiona set up the picnic, she decided a swim would be good for Leo, Arabelle, and Marilynn, if she wanted too. "Come on out everyone!" she exclaimed, throwing three pokeballs in the air. A couple red flashes later and her little pokemon team stood in front of her. Leo jumped in the water. Her loved it. Marill was a water type, so she dived in. Mareep looked at the water and winced. She was an electric type. If she was scared she would electrocute everything within twenty feet of her. She sat on their towel in the shade, glaring at the water. Fiona just laughed, told her to stay there, and ran into the water. She dived under and swam with Marill. The water was pretty darn clear. She loved it! The cool water felt great from the warmer climate. She came up for some air, and she saw her little Mawile swimming towards her. It was hard for him to swim, with that huge jaw attached to him and all, but he still tried immensely.

On a nice, sunny day such as this, water was a much desired commodity. Fiona and her Pokemon weren't the only ones that were looking for a little fun in the sun... and water. A nice cool breeze blew over the area, and gliding along on that breeze were four little oval clouds... no, wait. Those clouds weren't clouds at all, they were the wings of two Swablu! The pair of Swablu slowly angled themselves down towards the body of water, aiming for a spot that was just a short distance away from Fiona. They fluttered down and landed on the edge of the water. One of them dipped there beak in, took a drink, and then began preening its cloud-like wings. The other one looked over curiously at Fiona and her Pokemon. The two cheeped quietly back and forth to each other, and it was obvious that Fiona was the subject of their conversation. Female / Female 8 / 7 Peck, Growl, Astonish

Fiona's attention turned to the two adorable Swablu that were flying in. She loved Swablu. She loved a lot of pokemon, though. And she really didn't actually hate any pokemon, so technically, she liked them all. But Swablu were so cute and fluffy! They made her smile. And so far, they looked liken they were gossiping about her. Did Swablus, or birds in general gossip? They did chatter a lot. Leo gave a small smile to the two. Arabelle came up behind Fiona, like a spy from the Crown Affair, and she jumped upon Fiona's back. It startled her, but her little Marill was so innocent and harmless her precious self made the day brighter. Leo swam towards Fiona, struggling with staying afloat, with his vast jaw and all, but nonetheless he came to Fiona's side and clung on. Marilynn gazed skyward to the two Swablus. Maybe she could have a little chat with them while the rest of her family stayed in the water. They were going to hurt her. Right?
Marilynn pondered that for a second. They were just Swablu. She couldn't take both of them if they attack though. They scared her too. And she so shy and timid, she didn't want to get involved with anything. Arabelle was the exact opposite though. < Hi Swablu!!! I'm Arabelle! I'm a Marill! > she yelled suddenly, after climbing on Fiona's head and shoving her tail in Fiona's eyes. "Arabelle, you're on my head. Ow! And tugging my hair!" Fiona scolded trying to get the slippery Marill off of her head. Your know that saying, as slippery as a an eel. Well what about soaking wet Marill with wet hands? Fiona tried not to push her off, she just wanted to grab her. But Arabelle was dancing on her fingertips. She loved the few. Fiona was treading water and losing. Arabelle had enough of heights though. She hopped into the water and continued waving at the Swablu. Fiona rubbed her hair to help out the pain. "Arabelle, thanks for finally getting off." she said, dunking her hair and turning around. Leo was just laughing. He found everyone's antics hilarious, and they happened daily, so every day could have a nice laugh in it. With Arabelle, everyday was funny.
But hopefully those Swablu didn't think Arabelle was a total moron...yet.

When the strange little Marill called out to them, the second Swablu stopped its preening and followed the first Swablu's gaze towards Fiona and her happy noisy Pokemon. They cheeped and chattered and chirped a bit to each other, and then first Swablu hopped towards Fiona while the second Swablu watched suspiciously.
<...Arabelle? Is that a name that the human gave you?> The Swablu asked curiously as Arabelle continued waving at them. The second Swablu stared disapprovingly at her companion and at Arabelle... and, well, she gave that same disapproving look to everybody.
<We don't have many named Pokemon out here.> She added. <The only named Pokemon in the wilds are Pokemon that are well-known for something, and they just have names like Rage or Hunter or some such depending on what they are known for. Nothing like Arabelle. Arabelle is interesting.>

Arabelle listened to their chatters. Oohh! They had no names! That was odd. < Ohh? No name? And yes. My trainer gave me my name! She is Feeona! She is nice! > Arabelle continued, bobbing the water. She turned towards Fiona, finally realizing that she was just scolded. < I am not sar-ee! You have a good height for seeing. > Arabelle said, shrugging, then sticking her tongue out. How rude was it to interrupt someone's conversation? Arabelle could understand rudeness, but not when she did something mean. Fiona looked appalled. Then she gave Leo a 'Don't-You-Ever-Disrespect-Me-Like-That-Or-I-Will-Hide-You-And-Especially-In-Front-Of-People-And-Pokemon-Mister' look. Her Mawile was laughing at Arabelle's tough sticking. Yeah, he knew it was disrespectful and stupid, but hey, that pretty much summed up Arabelle. And he would never do that, but Fiona was not very happy with her Marill. No matter how precious that little blue bubbly pokemon was, she would never allow that behavior again. She felt like her mother. Creepy.
"Arabelle. If you ever do that again, I will not let your have any more pokemon treats for the next month. And then you're banned from family night." Fiona said, slowly swimming closer. Arabelle just shrugged at the treats, but family night!? Fiona knew how much Arabelle looked forward to family night every weeked, and how much she loved it. Every Sunday, they had family night. The farm would group together at 6:30 for a great dinner, then they would plays games and watch movies until about 9:30. Then they would have dessert and go off to bed at 10:30!! She never got to stay up until 10:30!! Arabelle would scowl at the thought, but she was too focused on her conversation with the birdies. Arabelle the Marill? Focused on something? Yes, a small miracle. But she loved talking to pokemon that she didn't know. She loved swimming too, this would double fun for her. She is in the water and talking to pokemon she doesn't know, what a great time. Fiona thought sarcastically. Marilynn, back on shore, looked at Arabelle's antics, shocked. Who knew she could get away with rudeness like that around Fiona? she thought. Then she saw Fiona scolding her.
Okay, now life made more sense.

The Swablu chirped, slightly amused, as Fiona scolded the funny little blue Pokemon. She looked curiously at Arabelle. <Do you like your trainer?> She asked after Arabelle got scolded. She was curious as to whether or not trainer's Pokemon enjoyed being trainer's Pokemon. Supposedly it would depend on the trainer and the Pokemon, but perhaps this Marill's response would provide some insight. If the Marill could honestly say that she liked being with her trainer even after being scolded, then maybe there was something to be said about being with a trainer.
The second Swablu still tried to retain her look of disdain, but truth be told, she was extremely curious about the same things that the first Swablu was inquiring about. She had never considered what it would be like to be owned by a human, but now that she was thinking about it, she definitely wanted to know what it would be like. Not that she would ever admit it. She was too proud of her freedom and her lifestyle that she had now. She didn't think very much of captured Pokemon. Fortunately for Fiona and her Pokemon, the first Swablu didn't have any such prejudice.

Arabelle nodded and swam a little closer. The no names were nice! < Yes! I love Feeona! She had a farm we all live on. She had pokemon treats and family nights, and the farm is a breeding farm! > the little Marill said, bobbing up and down and back and forth in the water as she jiggled around, doing a little dance. Fiona shook her head with a small grin on her face as Arabelle made a fool of herself. She loved every minute though. Leo hugged Fiona's arm and his jaw floated on the water next to her. He didn't want to find out what would happen if her jaw sank. Would he drown too? Marilynn looked up at the Swablu, then back at Arabelle and laughed. Ah, Arabelle. Her antics were what made her, her. A trait that Fiona loved, and it was pretty obvious at times. The little grin on her face had a thousand words. Including love, pride, and compassion.
Leo looked up at Fiona and smiled. < Arabelle is sure making quite a show for those two Swablu. > he commented, giving his owner and little hug. He knew how Fiona felt about the bubbly blue Marill sometimes. Her craziness was a bit much for her, as she had to run and manage the farm, make sure everything was according to plan, make sure Arabelle didn't hurt herself, and still get time to watch her Law and Order: SVU and take a shower. It was crazy on that farm, but Fiona somehow managed. She was super organized, and pretty strict at times. And she loved to go to the gym and get out her stress by fighting. Fighting as in, with other humans, martial arts style, and even training with Hitmonchans and Lucarios and such. It was a lot of fun, and her pokemon pushed away from the farm when she got too stressed or overworked. She was always stressed or overworked, though, so went it came to the tipping point, they took her out to places like Crystal Lake. They could train and have fun. With no worries, at all.
Wasn't that how life should have been for her?

The Swablu got a confused look on her face as Arabelle blabbered about Fiona and the farm that the human apparently owned and lived on. <Breeding... farm...? What is that? I have never heard of such a thing...!> The Swablu exclaimed, not completely sure if she liked the sound of this 'breeding farm' that the funny blue Marill had commented on. Then again, all of the human's Pokemon seemed to be fairly happy... the Mareep, the Mawile, the Marill... so maybe this human wasn't so bad, and maybe the human's so-called 'breeding farm' wasn't so bad, either. It was worth a consideration, anyways, right? The benefit of the doubt, optimism, hope for the best, all of those kinds of things. They were all things that this Swablu was willing to give a chance.

Arabelle's face became shocked. They didn't know what a breeding farm was? She jumped out of the water a little bit from that. How could they not know what a breeding farm was? But then she reminded herself they were wild. Just wild pokemon. < You don't know what a breeding farm is? It's a ranch where you breed pokemon, sell the eggs and pokemon, and the breeder, like Feeona, participates is upcoming breeder contests! They like to show off how pretty pokemon they breed and catch. Like Mary-lynn! > she went on, pointing at Marilynn at the end of her sentence and giving a small wave to her. Fiona's stomach growled. Okay, she was hungry. She looked at Leo and he nodded in agreement. Food sounded pretty good. She waded towards the shore slowly, as Marilynn waved back to Arabelle and laughed. The little Marill made Fiona look like a bad trainer sometimes, not controlling her pokemon and all, but she knew that there was much more to that. Fiona and Leo stepped onto the gravel shore and walked towards's Marilynn.
< So, we can have some food now? While Arabelle continues with the Swablu? Oh, and we can set up. > Leo asked, getting sick of questions. Fiona dried off her hands while Leo opened the picnic basket beside Marilynn and took out the plates, plastic utensils, and napkins. He looked up at Fiona to get the food. Her hands were actually dry. "Leo. Thanks, but you got the plates an napkins and stuff a little wet." she said, wiping the water off with another, smaller, towel. Leo shrugged and sat down next to Marilynn. The two watched Arabelle, and smiled at each other. They were used to her...being herself. "Okay, here's your food, and here's my food. Eat up. Before Arabelle gets here." Fiona said, smiling at the last comment. For such a little Marill, Arabelle ate like a trucker. She wolfed down everything and just walked away like nothing happened at the end. She was cute and cuddly, but boy, she could clean her plate is 5.3 seconds or faster. words. 350 exp.: 1476 + 350 = 1826

At this point, the second Swablu got bored and annoyed enough that she flew away, with a short chirp to say goodbye to her friend who was conversing with the strange little Marill.
The first Swablu stayed, very interested in what the Marill was explaining to her. <Hmm, that doesn't sound so bad.> She commented thoughtfully, with a small nod. 'Its a lot better than what I was thinking of!' She added to herself, instead of saying it out loud. "To be honest, it sounds quite interesting." She admitted, hopping closer to the Marill and tilting her head to the side. Then she looked over at Fiona and the Marill and the Mareep eating their picnic lunch. No matter what the other wild Pokemon said about humans and their Pokemon, that looked like fun. They all looked happy. "Hmm." The Swablu muttered to herself as she watched.
Then she turned back to the Marill. "Do you think your trainer would let me come with you guys?" She asked, sounding more shy than she had before. She was almost ashamed of that question, because she had grown up with those who thought that trainers were unpleasant and their Pokemon weren't as good as wild Pokemon. But her curiosity was stronger than her family's and friend's prejudice.

Arabelle's face was pure stone. It was like Medusa had popped up from hell when she was staring at some tv show, and turned her face to plain stone. That was her 'oh-my-dear-frickin-arceus-did-they-really-just-ask-that-oh-my-goodness' face. It was her excited face. Her super excited face. Fiona knew that face. It always happened when pokemon asked to join the group. Arabelle bobbed and slowly turned around to Fiona. She gave a little nod. Then the Marill jumped five feet into the air and paddled to the shore. Her tail was like a little propellor, simply speeding her through the water. Leo smiled. Another one to the team.
