Paying much closer attention to where he put his hands than it would've appeared at first glance, Fel climbed over the massive fallen tree, his red cloak standing out in stark contrast to the lush green of the forest around him. Dropping down on the other side of the tree in a shallow crouch, Fel stopped for a moment and looked around at the vegetation, mildly surprised at how home he felt despite never having been there before. It was especially nostalgic given that travelling through another forest similar to this one, the Viridian forest just to the north of where he'd spent his last six years as a normal civilian, had been exactly how he'd started his journey back in Kanto. In a way it was only fitting in a poetic sense in that it'd be how he started things here in this new region before beginning his first serious Gym circuit. Back in Kanto he'd simply challenged any Gym he'd come across before leaving for Johto, and after that he hadn't challenged any at all for over two years, making his way straight to Olivine, and from there to Hoenn to visit his first home before wandering about the island region at random. Feeling a stare at the back of his neck, Fel looked behind him to see Treecko simply standing in place on all fours and staring at him in with apparent puzzlement, seemingly defying gravity as he clung to the side of the moss covered wood with his front end facing down and head craned back and level with the ground to look Fel in the face at eye level and having apparently stopped when his trainer had.
"I'm fine, just thinking. No need to worry." Fel said. Treecko, satisfied with the normal response and simply attributing the moment where Fel had spaced out to his usual reaction to something new, hopped from the tree side and onto Fel's shoulder, climbing up to drape himself over the top of Fel's head, the trainer not at all bothered with it. Treecko had been his first pokemon, hatched from an egg his parents had left him - they weren't so much trainer and pokemon as they were siblings, having both grown up together for the better part of eight years. As it was Fel still hadn't seen to getting a pokeball for Treecko - due to his small, unobtrusive size it almost seemed a waste, and as of yet Fel hadn't been able to find a good reason to get around to finding a ball. Reasonably sure that Treecko was secure in his occasional spot, Fel continued forwards through the forest and onwards to Stormcloud city. With any luck he'd find a few pokemon along the way to train against before he challenged the Gym, even though he knew he wasa probably well prepared as it was. The last Gym he'd challenged had specialized in Electric types as well, and he'd barely managed to win against Surge through a combination of typing and sheer luck - he knew how difficult the type could be to beat, and wanted to be as prepared as possible before going in.
