Name: Camilla Jade Clément
Age: nineteen (June 1)
Gender: female
Sexuality: heterosexual
Status: Haven City gym leader• on the outside looking in •
Hair: greyish-brown, straight, flowing down to her hips
Eyes: dark blue, constantly bright and alert
Scars/Markings: frequently covered in scratches and scrapes, but nothing permanent
An active lifestyle and penchant for adventure has given Camilla a very lean and toned body shape. Her 169 centimetre frame is attributed mostly to her long legs, which are particularly muscular due to her love of hiking and track, and so much time spent out in the sun has tanned her skin noticeably from the paleness she had inherited from her parents.
Camilla is rarely ever seen without her black headband, a style she had adopted since she was a child (though she had to replace the headband numerous times as she grew). Attire-wise, she doesn't really care about looking stylish; as long as it's comfortable, easy to move around in, and most importantly, quick to wash so that she can get the laundry done as fast as possible, she's fine wearing it. Her wardrobe basically consists of simple shirts in plain colours and a variety of skirts reminiscent of school uniforms. In colder weather, this is complimented by a blue plaid coat handed down from her mother and perhaps a scarf if it's really freezing outside.

Camilla will fully admit it: she is not nice. She doesn't care how young you are, or how inexperienced, or how delicate your feelings; if she finds fault in something—anything—she will speak her mind without any sugarcoating or beating around the bush. Blunt and harsh and brutally honest. This has earned her a reputation for being a bit of a jerkass, but it's not like she actively parades around trying to put people down. She genuinely likes seeing people learn and improve themselves (even if she's not very polite about helping).
This extends to her Pokémon training as well. Camilla's standards for her Pokémon are always set staggeringly high, and she constantly pushes them in training to outdo themselves again and again. Some people accuse her of being an abusive trainer, but Camilla and her Pokémon both vehemently deny it because they know they care for each other deep down and simply want the team to reach their full potential. (Although the Pokémon do sometimes wish that their trainer would give them more time for unwinding and relaxing... also, they don't particularly appreciate Camilla's habit of throwing things at them whenever something goes wrong.)
While Camilla works hard and isn't one to give up easily, oftentimes she pushes herself too hard and forgets that she does need to take a break every now and then. Concern from friends and family is met with a mask of indifference, but she secretly gets a bit flustered whenever she's reminded that, yes, there are people in this not-so-nice world who love her and care about her wellbeing. Of course, she cares deeply for certain other individuals as well, but is never so wont to admit it out loud; on the contrary, Camilla often denies it when she makes a move to help somebody, although most people can see that she's actually a fluffy little sheep hiding in wolf's clothing when it comes to interpersonal relationships.

[/i]Items: The most she carries on her is some basic outdoor equipment, snacks, and plenty of water. Typically it's just the water and nothing else; too much weight is bothersome when running and climbing.

A Haven City native born to a strict mother and a lax father, Camilla's early life was rife with parenting contractictions. Her mother wanted her to stay inside and kickstart her education to secure future academic success, while her father wanted her to play outside and get dirty and enjoy her childhood like all the other kids. The result was young Camilla getting "the best of both worlds", so to speak: the seeds of her perfectionism and inclination for knowledge were sown, along with a fondness for the outdoors and exploring the rocky cliffs on the outskirts of the city.
At school, Camilla befriended a fellow overachiever by the name of Kay, a shy loner known among peers as a "nerd" and a "girly boy". She was brusque but well-meaning; he was kind but a complete doormat. She taught him to be more assertive; he taught her some kind of semblance to manners. Gradually, despite their personalities clashing at times, they became close friends while growing up.
At the age of ten though, Camilla and Kay went their separate ways on Pokémon journeys, like so many other children their age. Camilla caught her first Pokémon, a Houndour, in the Drenshen Cliffs outside the city and began travelling through her home region to quell her ever-growing thirst for adventure (much to her mother's chagrin and her father's approval). She didn't even touch the gyms. Pokémon training wasn't her priority at the moment.
However, it took her all of a year to deem the Star region "uneventful" and she moved on to the northern Sinnoh region, which harboured many myths and landmarks such as Mt Coronet and the supposedly haunted Old Chateau. Camilla found Sinnoh a lot more interesting and spend quite a bit of time there, particularly around the mountainous areas that reminded her of home. It was around this time when she began catching Pokémon instead of just fighting them off, and the faintest semblance to her current team was beginning to take shape. Two years passed until Camilla left Sinnoh for Johto with a trained Shieldon and Gible by her side, along with her loyal Houndour starter who by this point had evolved into Houndoom.
In Johto, Camilla decided to try her hand at a few gym challenges and discovered that she actually quite enjoyed it, and had a pretty good knack for it too; all that studying and reading and time spent around Pokémon in her younger years was seeming to pay off, as was the training she and her Pokémon had done back in Sinnoh. She was about three years late, but now Camilla had jumped onto the battling scene as well and spent the next few years training and building up her team. Her penchant for adventure never died though; she rarely stayed in one place for very long, and preferred hiking through the wilderness as opposed to borrowing a flying Pokémon or riding a train.
When Camilla finally returned to Haven City after her long teenage years away from home, she was surprised to discover that her old friend Kay, with whom she had lost contact long ago, had been appointed gym leader of the city. She offered her congratulations and all that and they hung out again just like old times, catching each other up and rebonding. Camilla mentioned that she was thinking about giving up challenging gyms since it was never really her ambition in the first place, and she would just be content with wandering around, perhaps occasionally having a friendly battle with other wandering trainers.
And Kay remembered this when he got a call from his stepmother about a year later, frantically informing him that his father fell ill and they wanted him to come to Rustboro to stay with him and take care of him. Kay couldn't possibly refuse, so he asked Camilla, who was just as experienced and skilled at battling as he was, to take care of the gym while he was gone. With the opportunity to do her friend a favour and have a reason to get into serious battling again, Camilla shrugged and accepted, and Kay hastily returned to Hoenn, leaving Haven City's gym in the hands of the then-eighteen-year-old girl.
Months passed. Camilla hadn't heard from Kay in a while and was seriously considering going to Hoenn herself to see what was happening, when he finally called... to tell her that he was moving to Rustboro permanently to live with his sick father and stepfamily. He had to relinquish leadership of the gym to somebody else though, and offered to give it to her officially. It took her quite a bit of time to regain her composure and make sure she had heard him correctly, but she accepted with a surprising amount of excitement. Another phone call and plenty of paperwork later, nineteen-year-old Camilla soon found herself the new gym leader of Haven City. Immediately, she picked up her slack and whipped up a whole new training regime for her Pokémon and herself, eager to prove to challengers—and everyone else—that she was the right choice and definitely not a leader to be trifled with.
Other: Her Houndoom is her baby, and is kept out of his ball and doted on as much as is humanly possible for Camilla. Hurt him in any way and she will personally remove the offender's limbs from their body.
