It was quite remarkable how quick Sakura had become stronger just by fighting an Oddish. In the beginning, Kira had thought the battle would have been easy, but it’d soon been clear to both Kira and her that the little grass-type didn’t have any intentions on losing. And now, after battling it, Sakura had learned Ember, a fire-type attack, which she of course was pretty proud of. And that wasn’t the only thing which had changed. Kira’s pokemon egg had just hatched, and a level 5 Gastly had appeared from it.
Now, Kira and Sakura were resting in the forest. Or rather, Kira was resting. Sakura was eager for another battle, so she let her eyes inspect the area around them to see if any opponents should appear. It’d been a few days since she’d battled the wild pokemon, so she was more than ready for a new one. ”Take it easy Sakura,” Kira said. She lay in the grass and the sun shone on her face. Gastly was inside a pokeball. He wasn’t as eager as Sakura to be outside. Kira wondered how he would be in a battle. It would be quite different to use a ghost-type instead of a fire-type. And besides that, he didn’t seem to be as confident and stubborn as Sakura. Maybe he just needed some training. ”I don’t want to take it easy,” Sakura said. She went to Kira’s side and nipped her in her black hair. ”Sakura stop it!” Kira laughed as she tried to gently push the Ponyta’s muzzle away with her hand. ”Your hair looks like grass, so why shouldn’t I try to eat it?” Sakura asked playfully. ”Because it’s black, isn’t that reason enough for you?” Kira said reasonably and tried to sit up, but then Sakura nipped her hair again and she fell back down on the grass. ”Didn’t I tell you to stop it?” she began to feel slightly irritated of her pokemon’s amount of energy. ”You want me to stop? Then you have to catch me first!”
Kira knew there was no way she could catch the Ponyta, but she stood up anyway to play with her friend in the clearing. Sakura made a buck as Kira neared her and was gone from her trainer’s reach in the next second. Like that they kept on playing – without Sakura seeming to be tired at all.
