The sun was out at it's peak as Aaron was leaning against a tree. The shade from the long branches were keeping the bright rays of the sun from damaging Aaron's sensitive skin. It was a pretty warm day, but a cool, windy breeze blew by, which cooled him down a bit. So far, he was having a nice day out, although it was a bit boring. He needed something to do. He reached down to his Pokemon belt, and picked off a Pokeball from it's clip. He threw it in the air, and watched it spin around a few times before the ball released a white beam onto the ground that formed a Crustle.
Crustle slowly turned to his trainer, and for a few seconds they had a stare off. Crustle then walked next to his trainer, and unloaded the large boulder off of his back. He then lied next to Aaron, and slowly started to drift off into sleep.
"Maybe he wasn't the smartest choice to liven up a boring day..." Aaron said to himself.

Rolling his shoulders to loosen them, Slate suppressed a yawn as he moved through the forest, not following any particular route or trail, and that was just as he liked it. In Slate's experience there was little ever gained from following the paths carved ahead by others, and by travelling through the undeveloped areas he toughed himself up along with his team, a practice that he'd kept to ever since he got serious about being a trainer all the way back in Hoenn, and it was the philosophy he'd based his entire life around, even down to his battles when he could without breaking whatever rules had been set for the individual fights. Still, things had been a bit slow of late, which was exactly why he'd left the League headquarters to take a look around the region he was now a resident of, although even that had its downsides. Unlike Kanto and Johto, he hadn't challenged any of the Gyms before accepting his position, and now that he had the challenges would have been improper to begin with. On top of that almost none of the trainers he'd run across so far would have even given any of his pokemon so much as a workout, which meant the last battle he'd been involved in was all the way back in the Sira desert. Pushing through another wall of vegetation, Slate at least acknowledged that the forest's natural quiet felt good - it wasn't as dark or isolated as Ilex had been, but but was still nostalgic in its own way.
