Aiming for the stars~!

It was beautiful day. Rays of sunlight stroked Hailey's face while she was nervously walking towards the Pokémon Laboratory. Every step closer to it became tougher and tougher, as stress started taking over her body and her mind. 'Wh-what should I do!? ... Maybe she won't even give me a pokémon... I'm just no good!..'

Thoughts like that were running through her mind and she couldn't help it. She knew that this would be one of the most important days of her life, and she couldn't do anything to make it go like she wanted it to. She had heard of the lab. People said that it contained an infinite amount of pokémon and that faith decides which one you get. But what if faith gave her an unattractive one... A useless one...

She shook her head wildly. What was she thinking!? There was no such thing as a useless pokémon. All Pokémon are unique in their own special way, and even if it was just for a moment, thinking that even one pokémon was ueless, was unacceptable. If she wanted to become the best, then she'd have to learn about every kind.

She know walked towards the laboratory, a slight breeze made her hair wave in the wind as she approached the stairs that led to the wooden doors.

She sighed, took a deep breathe and knocked on the door. "Hello!? Anyone here!? I'm here to get my first pokémon!' She yelled as she sat down on the stairs. No answer.. She decided to wait for someone to return, because there was no hair on her head that thought that she'd leave this place without a partner pokémon.

Hailey was subjected to a short, momentary wait before the door was answered. The woman who did so was in her late thirties, and very pleasant looking. Her black hair had tiny streaks of dark gray, which were similar in color to her eyes. She smiled brightly at the female before her, and opened the door a bit wider. As she did so, more of the lab could be seen behind her.

Directly in front at the very back of the room sat a rather large desk, covered with papers and empty coffee mugs, and of course a full, fresh and steaming one. To the left was a huge window, which was actually a sliding glass door, that lead out to a great open pasture of green grass, and was clearly where pokemon were let out to play. To the right, an open room that was obviously a lounge, and a set of grand stairs that lead upward. To the right of the desk, at the far back, a large open archway stood, leading into a dark room.

"Hello there. I'm Professor Storm." She greeted the young girl, her voice reflecting her kind demeanor, "How may I help you?"
