Hello folks! And welcome back to another edition of The Galaxy Gazette! Here to bring you the latest news and updates from around the region, I'm the owner of the Gazette, Ericen Night. But let's skip the introductions and get right down to it!

Welcome to Celest's Column! Run by yours truly, Celest the Pidgey. I travel all over Star Region in search of the hottest stories and most important news, as well as the occasional bit of juicy gossip. From the world around you to the paper in front of you, I've got all the updates you need!

√ Good lord! It's crazy! Tons of new pokemon have appeared, invading the Star Region from their native Unova Region. Who knows what's driven them out, but they were clearly in search of a new home, and seem to have found it! Say hello to the 5th generation of pokemon, because they're here to stay.

√ Don't you ever get tired of clicking all those buttons up there in order to format your posts? All you want is for it to be bolded, blockquoted, size 3, italicized, centered, and in the Comic Sans MS font. Is that too much to ask for without tons of repetitive clicking and work? Not anymore! A new code has been added so to allow you to make this near automatic each time you post. How does it work you ask? Easy!

Just go to your profile > modify profile > scroll down to posting templates > hit create > give it a name > type in all of the BBCC coding you want (ie, [b*][/*b] for bold, without the * of course) > and modify your profile! Now, when you go to post there will be a drop down menu above the text box, from which you just need to select the template, and it will insert all of the coding for you!

√ We have a new skin! It's simple and colorful. Something for the peeps who don't like the complicated, perfect and overly designed type of skin.

√ Our first two contests are underway! The first is an Advertising Contest, with wonderful prizes! If you're interested, click HERE.

The second is a mini-banner contest. This can be entered whether you know how to make graphics or not! If you're interested, click HERE.

√ Next we'd like to welcome some new staff members to the team. First off, congratulations to Flash for being promoted to a Global Mod! And welcome to Kari as a new part of that team as well. √ This Sunday is Easter, if you have yet to notice, and the Star Region is putting on a wonderful little event: the Easter Egg Giveaway! It's quite simple to participate. Just be around on Sunday, and look for the giveaway thread in the contest board. Further instructions will be able to be found there, so please don't bother me with questions about the matter. You'll just have to be patient and wait.

Why hello there. Welcome to In The Ring, with myself, Tyco, and Arabella. As you can see, I've claimed ownership of our little column here, hence why the introduction is written by yours truly, and not my dear Arabella. Of course, it doesn't help her any that I unplugged her computer, and she's yet to figure that out... Heh.

Today's battle!

√ Arabella: What a funny question, considering who's being asked. Of course they should! This debate wouldn't even be happening if this ability hadn't been granted to us. Besides, what's the harm in it? I don't see why it's such a problem.

√ Tyco: Yes, yes, it's hilarious Airy. I'm rolling on my sides with laughter. But let's be serious here. And while we're being serious, let me ask, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Hell no they shouldn't be able to speak. What makes you think any of them are even that intelligent? I mean, we can, sure, but that's because I'm fifty times smarter than any of them, and you, well, you just make the cut, but I suppose you make it nonetheless.

√ Arabella: Ad Hominem? Really Tyco? Attacking me won't win you this argument. Besides, we've established several times already that I'm far more intelligent than you. Anyways, back to the matter at hand. The ability to speak allows a pokemon more intimacy with their trainer. Opinions become more evident, and emotions more easily expressed. Bonds grow tight, making the partnership ever stronger. With the ability to speak comes friendship, along with possibilities for growth among the relationship, that would otherwise be lost without speech.

√ Tyco: If pokemon could speak, it would be a disaster. Plain and simple. It goes against simple logic. It's impossible. It would defy the laws of nature, and throw everything into chaos. Such a dignified and prestigious ability would become common place and poor. It would ruin the esteemed intelligence and respect that comes with the ability, by making it something that even the most thick-headed and ridiculously stupid of pokemon can do. I'm firmly against this.

√ Arabella: And I firmly for it.

The call?
-Compromise.-
Starter pokemon and psychics will have the ability to speak. Staters in order to help create strong relationships between a trainer and their first pokemon, and psychics because of their natural abilities which allow this.

There was this Pokemon that every night dreamed of Twinkies and it had only eaten one in its entire life. Could you imagine such a horrible fate, to be a Pokemon that loved something so much but could only experience once your life. That is how this Taillow felt, it felt like it had no place in this world. Because of its love for the only one-eaten Twinkies. This was a depressed Pokemon, a Pokemon that flew around hoping to one day encounter another Twinkie.

I could only imagine! That would indeed be a horrible fate. Hopefully one day that poor little Taillow will find itself a Twinky.

√ Whoa dear! What does this girl think she's doing? I would never dream of offending the leader of The Order, but to her I offer my respect for her great strength and bravery!

You know this is completely unnecessary, right? Not only that but its downright brutal and disgusting. You can't come in here and just start killing people we know barely anything about. And you can't bring your personal life into it either - We all have our pasts."

I'm Shalo. No, not shallow, Shalo. It's my freaking name you idiot! ... Anyways. I don't know what the point of this is, but I've been commissioned to write down my day's events, apparently for your entertainment. Which, by the way, I don't give a damn about. So deal with it.

√ Today sucked. Nothing went my way. Hell, nothing ever seems to go my way. I was just minding my own business, trying to find something to eat, when this stupid Order member attacked me! He started screaming about me being a thief, and that pokemon weren't allowed in the kitchen, and to get the hell out, yadda yadda yadda. He was so freaking annoying!

I started yelling back, and that freaked him out a little bit, which was funny. I asked him if he'd never heard of a talking pokemon before, and he just stared like he'd seen a ghost. Until I started laughing at him of course. Those stupid Order member are so touchy and sensitive.

Anyways, the loser had to go and release his Houndoom on me. Of course the thing was huge, just my luck. I managed to dodge the Flamethrower attack he shot at me, as well as get in a good round of Fury Swipes, before I got the hell out of there. But not before securing a loaf of bread. He chased me out with fire though, the damn idiot, and burnt the entire thing to a crisp.

So now my tongue was burned and I had no dinner, and it was already dark out. So you can imagine what wonderful spirits I'm in now. There is a bit of hope though. I think Sienna only ate half of her lunch, as I saw her putting something back in the fridge... She's leaving for the night in ten minutes. So perhaps my day won't end as horribly as I thought.

I doubt it.

The stupid editors forced me to put this in here. Apparently they're doing some ridiculous promotion where if you make a thread and RP with me, our adventures may end up in the next edition of the Galaxy Gazette. I don't know what stupid adventures they're talking about. My life isn't that exciting. In fact, it sucks, so I don't see why in the world you'd want to roleplay with me. Anyways, if you're pathetic and have nothing else to do, drop me a message, and we'll get something started.
