General Appearance: Due to both her tomboyish attitude and similar philosophy to Slate's, Galena is in excellent physical shape, and despite her rather average appearance she is incredibly strong and fast for her size. She also tends to wear rather mundane, day to day clothing like her cousin as well - normally she's seen wearing dark blue jeans and a normal sage colored t shirt without markings, but carries a brown hoodie for colder weather, another weakness she shares with Slate. Physically she's almost stick thin, with barely visable whipcord muscle being the only thing keeping her from being little more than skin and bones. She stands at 5' 10" and weighs 144 pounds.

While most Aspens will back down in the face of logical, well thought out arguments unless they can't afford to, Galena had made it clear even as a child that she would never let herself be beaten either intellectually or in a fist fight. As a result she was all but uncontrollable as a child and early teen, earning the reputation as a delinquint for her numerous school yard brawls and scraps despite being ranked among the top ten students. Like her cousin Slate, Galena also is typically cynical of the world, and is slow to trust people without reason - even if she does need to trust someone because of necessity she will retract that trust the moment she feels they aren't on the level with her. Still, those who do earn her trust will find her to be a loyal friend, if somewhat blunt with both words and actions at times.

Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is that Grovyle has no issue with using special and energy based moves. Like Galena, Grovyle tends to be very competitive, and will never back down from a fight if he stands to lose anything from it.

History: As with most Aspens, Galena was born in Rustboro, her father's hometown - unlike him and her uncle, however, Galena grew up in Petalburg since her father moved there to take a job. Galena grew up as a normal child for the most part, although her stubborn attitude quickly set her apart from most of the other children, even going so far as to earn her the title of the town's resident deliquent, despite being ranked among the top 15 students at her school. Nevertheless, most adults and even her parents found her uncontrollable, with her often doing just as she pleased, although what she did severely differed from what most other children her age did. Despite the warnings she would routinely go on expeditions into Petalburg Woods, greatly anticipating her tenth birthday when she would be allowed to register as a trainer in Littleroot. She would also get into school yard brawls with bullies and others, either because of them picking on those who couldn't defend themselves or simply because she'd taken a disliking to the other person - she would never fight those who couldn't fight back, however. She was severely disappointed when Slate left to become a trainer - because of her local reputation and the status as an only child, he was often the only playmate she had growing up, and spent the next four years preparing for when she would become a trainer herself. At the age of ten she left home for Littleroot - unlike with Slate both her parents approved, seeing that it would be a good experience and very likely her life calling after her excursions into Petalburg forest when she was younger. Upon arriving in Littleroot she would choose a Treecko as her starter, the new trainer instantly drawn to the Wood Gecko because of its spunk, and immediately headed to Rustboro to take on the Gym. Barely winning her first battle but spurred on by the victory, Galena went on to challenge several of the Hoenn Gyms over the next two years, securing victory at the Dewford, Mauville and Petalburg Gyms before getting the urge to leave Hoenn for a change of pace. Travelling to Slateport, Galena left for Kanto, arriving in Vermillion City and immediately heading north to Saffron to pass through to Cerulean. After winning in the Cerulean Gym and evolving her Treecko into a Grovyle in the process, Galena captured a Weedle, evolving it into a Beedrill during her passage through Rock Tunnel over the next month and a half. After arriving in Lavender Town Galena spent nearly a year training herself and Grovyle in both Pokemon Tower and on the nearby Route 8, capturing a Ghastly during one of her several trips to the tower. Travelling through to Saffron, Galena challenged Sabrina only and lost, Galena afterwards travelling north back to Cerulean but this time west towards Pewter City. As she travelled through Mt. Moon Galena managed to catch a Clefairy after having mistaken it as another pokemon in the darkness, and although she had no taste for such pokemon she kept it and trained it, seeing it as her responsibility as a trainer. Finally making it to Pewter City, Galena spent another two years training her team, evolving the Gastly in the latter half of the second year and eventually trading the Clefairy for a Kabuto. Challenging the Pewter Gym at the end of the second year, Galena would Travel back to Saffron to again attempt to challenge Sabrina, loosing for a second time but not dulling Galena's intent to eventually take the psychic down. Moving east through her old stomping grounds in Lavender, Galena tavelled south along Routes 12, 13, 14 and 15, spending another two years training in and around Fuchsia City, eventually challenging Janine at the end of those two years and winning. Bolstered by the win, Galena was leaving the Gym to return to Saffron once again for another rematch with Sabrina when she caught sight of Slate's name on the placard listing the winning trainers at the Gym - intrigued and getting the itch to test her team against his as well as the possibility of meeting someone she'd considered a brother, Galena followed up on the lead, making it to the Star Region after half a year of following his trail and arriving in Stormcloud City. No longer interested in following up on Slate after the discovery of an entire new region besides Johto, Hoenn or Kanto, Galena's goal is nothing short of conquering every Gym in the region.
Other: Like Slate, Galena is a nasty opponent on her own - while she lacks Slate's additional weight, height and experience she makes up for it with sheer tenacity and scrappiness, often taking hits and not slowing down in spite of them.
