"Maybe I should have taken a Pokemon with me like Mom said. On Taur I could have been there an hour ago."
Soap stopped his incredibly tedious stroll to the Lab for a moment, stretching his aching legs. Traveling sure does take a number on a trainer, huh?
The boy had just left his home, declining the opportunity to take his family's Pokemon along with him for an easy start. However, Shoban believed if he were to defeat every single Pokemon, he should do with his very own companions.
His fingers found the pendant around his neck, spinning it about the string to then let it unwind itself with tiny violent force. Man, if journeying is this annoying just from walking, I may have to reconsider my purpose. Soap was joking to himself, of course. Humor would help the time pass by faster until he got to the Lab.
_______________________ Finally, he reached the building he had been seeking. It's walls were smooth and pristine; these were the signs that the Lab was under professional supervision. Smiling nervously, he would push open the door, his sights dancing about the room to find the appropriate professor, assistant, secretary (anybody, in that matter).
"Hello? It's Baburu Shabon; I called a couple hours earlier saying I was a starting trainer. I'm here for some staring supplies and a Pokemon.."

The assistant behind the desk looked up from his paperwork as the door was opened. Not that much longer someone spoke up and to this he let out a sigh putting down the pen in his left hand. Standing up he smiled at the boy who called himself Baburu Shabon. Walking over to the front lobby counter he placed hands down on it. "Hello Baburu Shabon, I am assistant Drew. We spoke on the phone I believe." The blue haired man said as he pushed his thin black framed glasses back up his nose.
"What type of pokemon interest you?" He then asked as looked at the trainer. He seemed to forget to ask that on the phone. Or if he had, it had slipped his mind what this young man had answered. Drew was always forgetting things. He can only guess he has been playing with Phyduck too much or something to that nature.

"What Pokemon am I-"
Oh crud. Soap didn't anticipate this; he expected the professor to just hand him his stuff and let him be on his way. Though he had to admit, this was a much better choice. Time for some hardcore decision making.
"Well let's see..." he mumbled to himself. His father had many Pokemon back at the ranch, and a good three quarters moved along with the family. There seemed to be every shape, size, and type of creature one could imagine. The boy felt like trying different, but he couldn't thin- wait.
"This might sound a tad bit absurd, but do you happen to have any Dragon types here?"
Now that he thought about it, the only Dragon types Soap had ever seen were in books. His father used to tell him they sometimes were quite hard to train, though this would just be more reason to own one.

"Of course, wait here." The man said as he turned to go into the back looking at the pokeballs they had there he grabbed four of them and put them in his left pocket. He then gathered all the supplies that make up the starter kit. Putting the supplies in an empty backpack so that he wouldn't have to fumble around with all the stuff and look like a fool possibly dropping something. After gathering everything he walked back to the front with a smile. Placing the bag on the counter he spoke again. "In this bag is your starter kit." He said handing it to the boy before taking out the pokeballs and letting out the pokemon.
"Alright here are the choices. First up we have Swablu who isn't a dragon right now, but evolves into Altaria a dragon flying type." Waving his hand towards the normal flying pokemon he then moved to the next one in the line. "Here we have Trapinch. A ground type right now yes, but Trapinch evolves into a dragon type first Vibrava a ground dragon type then later Flygon who is also a ground dragon type." He paused for a moment looking at the young man as he took a breath. "Next we have Bagon who is a dragon type. Bagon evolves into Shelgon then later Salamence. Last but not least we have Starly which isn't a dragon pokemon but rather a flying type. However Starly has been here for quiet a while so I thought I'd put it in with your choices. Starly evolves into Staravia and then later Staraptor." Drew said finally done telling the trainer about them. Stepping to the side so that the young man could get a better look at them he spoke one more time. Any of these interest you? Then he was silent.

Soap grabbed the pack, smiling with thankfulness at the assistant's helpful nature. "Alright, thank's man.
[/font]". Now, time to see what Pokemon he had. First being introduced was Swablu. It watched the boy's movements with soft, loving eyes. Being able to evolve into a Dragon type seemed pretty cool to him, but their personalities would probably clash too much. He turned to the next one. The Trapinch stared blankly at the new trainer, the slight sound of its massive jaws clicking together sending chills through Soap's skin. Being a Ground-Dragon type in the future would be incredibly helpful defensive-wise, but that would mean he would take an incredible amount of damage from Ice type attacks. Creepy + Major Achilles heel = No deal. The Bagon's beady eyes attacked his own with aggressiveness; he felt some form of connection between the two of them just through eye contact. Not to mention he was already a Dragon type. It definitely had it's advantages; still, there was one left to examine. While Starly would only remain a Normal-Flying type, the fact that it was well experienced gave it a plus. It's attitude seemed to be more chipper than the others; an excited nature enveloped the entire being of the bird. After some quick thinking, the choice became obvious. " I'll go with Bagon. He's already a Dragon, and we seem like we'd click." Soap knelt down to meet who would be his new companion. " I need to think of a good name for you..." The tiny dragon growled before snapping its maw viscously at his new owner. He smiled a teasing sneer at it. " Kyokou (Big Mouth)! Perfect!" A sudden thought interrupted his 'bonding' with the tiny dragon. " Oh right! Uh, if it's not too much trouble, could we transfer him to another Pokeball?" he would ask, pulling out the polished blue sphere from his back pocket. " This was a present from my late father, so I think my first Pokemon should be caught with this."[/blockquote][/blockquote]

As the young man looked over each pokemon and thought Drew smiled as he rested his chin on his hands. Seeing trainer pick out their pokemon was always the fun part of his job. That and playing with the pokemon where his favorite things about it. The paperwork not so much, but it really was a fair enough trade for the good moments such as this. "Alright Bagon it is." He said as he looked at the dragon type then the boy. Hearing the young man pick a name for his new pokemon he smiled even more. Looking at the pokemon that won't picked he sighed before speaking to them. "Don't worry guys cheer up you're find a trainer soon enough even you Starly." He gave them hope as he returned them. He had hoped this boy would have picked the Starly who has been at the lab for nearly half a year, but sooner or later she'll find her trainer.
Putting the pokeballs back in his pocket he heared what the boy was asking. "Of course we have something that can transfar pokemon from one pokeball to another." Drew told the trainer as he returned Bag--Kyolou back to the pokeball he has been in. "This way." Drew said as he came out from behind the counter and walked over to a mechine. Placing the pokeball he had on one side he looked at the trainer again before speaking. "Place your blue pokeball on the other side." He said waiting for him to put the pokeball down. They had the machine just in case something like this happened or trainers wanted to trade pokemon seeing as ones a pokemon is catch in one pokeball it can't be caught in another only traded and whatnot.

He followed the assistant behind the counter, stopping at a socketed machine. "This is...convenient." he said in disbelief. How lucky was he?
"So I just place it here, right? Right.
[/font]" After being given the instructions, Soap would place his father's Pokeball into the other side, and step back to watch the magic. Well, it would actually be science. Magic science.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Convenient? Why yes it is very convenient indeed. Nodding his head Drew waited for the pokeball to be placed in the machine before turning it on. After a few moments, about a minute at the most the machine beeped and Drew took the blue pokeball out. Handing it to the trainer he smiled. "Here you are, your pokemon." He was happy that the trainer could be on his way now that he had everything. Unless he had some questions still.
If he did Drew would be more then happy to answer them for him. Turning back to the machine he took the now empty lab pokeball out and put it in his pocket so that he could be used again at a later date. "Is there anything else I could help you with? If not then you are all set and good luck to you with your travels."

It would be one of those key moments in a person's life that they never forget, the sharp ping of the machine. He happily reclaimed the Pokeball, feeling a slight amount of weight within its confines.
He turned to face the assistant. "I can't thank you enough for all your help Drew. You could have fooled me as being the professor himself with the amount of work I've seen from you."
With his new companion in hand, he decided it was time to leave. "See ya man!" he called out, sending a 'peace' sign towards the assistant as he walked out the door.
____________________________ Just a few moments out of the Lab, Soap decided to let Kyokou have a bit of breathing room by letting him walk beside him. A bright white flash escaped the Pokeball in his grasp as the tiny dragon appeared. Again, he snarled at his new owner. "Oh come on, I let you out of the ball! Just...walk with me man." He held out his hand in a friendly gesture.
A sharp spike of pain shot through the boy's body as Kyokou's jaw enveloped his entire hand, locking around his wrist. Soap's face stretched in agitation as he stood himself back up, continuing on the path he started on as his Pokemon dangled along.
With his free hand, he fumbled in his new backpack for his PokeDex, a stylish shade of crimson, aiming the business end to catalog his new Bagon.
"I hope that this thing's not the 'bite and never let go' type..."
