[NAME] Baburu, Shabon "Soap"[/b] Shabon thinks very highly of himself and his abilities; those who think otherwise eventually have to answer to one of his short-lived tantrums.
[AGE] 14
[GENDER] Male
[SEXUALITY] All about the ladies~
[STATUS] Trainer
[PLAY BY] Me
[APPEARANCE]
As he is currently experience puberty, the boy's muscular physique is clearly beginning to bud (though this may be due to the fact that he doesn't prefer an undershirt). Standing 5'4'' and weighing only 105lbs, Shabon seems to favor the colors blue and red, as they make up the majority of his clothing's pallet. He bears a pair of yellow-tinted goggles that acts as both a buffer for sunlight, but also allows him to see during sandstorms and blizzards.
Around his neck Shabon carries a small gold drill-shaped pendant that he found as a youngster, believing it to be a good luck charm. Unbeknownst to the boy, the drill is actually a Quick Claw that had been reforged and lost. Spectators detail his polished onyx eyes being able to illuminate even the smallest of his smiles.
[MENTALITY]
の[Ambitious] The boy's dream is his livelihood, his drive, and sometimes his fault. Despite what may come across his path, he continues on his journey, learning from his mistakes.
の[Blunt] Shabon says what needs to be said, no matter how rude or insulting it is. His parents raised him to be a straight shooter, and he's about as straight-forward as a teenager could be.
の[Aggressive] To accomplish his dream of beating every single Pokemon, Shabon's adopted a powerfully hostile attitude. Fights are fun, and though he and his companions may get hurt, he knows that any sign of compassion towards his opponent could lose him the match.
の[Hidden Compassion] His aggressive behaviors mask his traces of actual compassion for his friends and Pokemon. Shabon rarely shows this side of himself to others unless he bears a great amount of trust or respect for them.
の[Rebel] It is quite obvious that Soap doesn't appreciate being told what to do if he can have a say in the matter. Despite what may be the norm for training, fighting, or just following rules, the boy tries to find ways to go about them in his own way and on his own time.[/ul]

[HISTORY]
Born on July 21st, Shabon found the world of Pokemon to be a strange yet exciting place to grow up. Their family lived on the edge of a desert, on a flat plain for farming. His father, a breeder, introduced his very young son to his lot of mythical creatures. Of course, the boy fell in love with his new brothers and sisters, spending most of his childhood just playing with them.[/blockquote]
It was at age six that Shabon's father was invited on an expedition to study the ruins of an ancient civilization, with the possibility of finding a new slew of undiscovered Pokemon. This meant leaving the farmland to live in a more urban neighborhood, while his father spend almost the whole time with the expeditionary team. Shabon had a harder time making human friends than Pokemon ones, which still remains true to this day.
Shabon turned ten, and his father began to come home less and less. Supposedly, they were on the verge of discovering something very important, leaving the saddened child to be the man of the house. The boy took this role seriously, which helped develop his more aggressive and dominant attitude towards others. During this time, he had found an almost drill-shaped piece of metal while he was helping his mother plant a garden. He keeps it around his neck as a pendant, thinking it would bring him good luck.
One day, his father returned home, his face lit from a bright grin when he saw how much his son had grown. Fortunately, he was allowed to spend a whole two weeks with his family before having to return on the expedition. Lastly, he had a special present for his son.
He had come across a rare Pokeball being sold in a small market, and decided to get it for the boy. What made the ball unique was that it's lid was a bright blue, instead of the common red color. Because of his fixation on blue, he decided it would make a great gift for his son.
During his time home, Shabon's father decided to teach the boy about training Pokemon. He even demonstrated a battle, which acted as the key moment when he wanted to become a trainer. Seeing such determination, his father told the boy to forge a dream to follow, and he would achieve greatness. Unfortunately, the boy had no idea what to do (Become the region's champion? Catch every pokemon? Find a legendary? So many choices).
Sadly, the time came when his father would have to return to his trip. He told the boy he would be home when the boy was ready to become a trainer. Shabon told him to make this a promise, to which his father agreed to. Then, with a hug and a stifled sniffle, they were forced to part ways once again.
When the boy reached twelve, done training with the family's Pokemon and doing basic research on attacks and types, he would be ready to become a Trainer. He promised himself, though, that he wouldn't leave on his journey until his father visited him again and gave him his blessing to do so.
That day, his mother had received word of her husband being lost in an avalanche during their expedition in the mountains. The tragic news hit home with Shabon, who almost decided to give up becoming a trainer. he had blamed his father for his own death, spending the rest of the day loathing and crying to himself.
That very night, Shabon attempted to break the blue Pokeball that his father gave to him out of sheer spite, though despite the number of blows he dealt the device, the ball didn't develop a single scratch. For a moment, he thought he saw his father's face on the ball's metallic reflection, but upon further examination, saw that it was himself.
He and his father were very much alike, his mother always told him, and Shabon knew that he himself wouldn't have gotten himself killed when he had a family at home. Just as the clock chimed midnight, he had forgiven his father.
Shabon is now fourteen and, despite his mother's offerings of letting him take one of the family's Pokemon with him, is ready to begin his journey in the Starr region. Of course, he must first get his very own companion at the Laboratory a few miles away...
