Darren • Indigo • Marks
Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down.
• Labels Do Not Define Me •
Name: Darren Indigo Marks
Age: Twenty-seven [27].
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Unknown.
Status: Trainer; Corel City Gym Leader.
• On The Outside Looking In •
Hair: Sandy blond.
Eyes: Dark blue.
Scars/Markings: He has a thin scar on his collar bone from his Pelipper pecking him when the Pokemon was still a Wingull, a patch of burned skin on his lower left calf from when his Torkoal was still new, he also has a long scar from the middle of his right elbow to the outside of his right wrist, in a curve, from trying to save one of his other Pokemon. He failed, and the scar is all that's left to prove that he ever had a Seel.
General Appearance: Darren is a tall man, standing at six foot seven inches. He does not hold a perfect swimmers body, like one would believe. He's actually kind of on the chubby side, since he rarely goes out and does any traveling. This said, think of a slightly tubby man when you hear that Darren weighs about one hundred and fifty-three pounds. Darren's comfortable with his appearance, however, so this doesn't both him.
He has an oval shaped face, with a strong, well defined, slightly pointed chin. His eyes are almond shaped and sit a little high above his slightly crooked nose, which may or may not be the result of slamming into a table at a full tilt run. Yes, with his face. He has thick, shaggy eyebrows over his dark blue eyes, that are the color of his ear length sandy blond/brown hair. His ears, by the way, are kind of elf-like in appearance.
• There's More Than Meets The Eye •
Likes: Water Pokemon, Fire Pokemon, Flying Pokemon, Ice Pokemon, and Electric Pokemon. The rest he really couldn't care less about. He also likes swimming, though he doesn't do it often due to the fact that Rein, his Sealeo, will not swim with him without Dewdrop.
Dislikes: Anyone who harms Pokemon. This includes the man who challenged him and killed Dewdrop.
Strengths: Swimming.
Weaknesses: Running. His compassion for Pokemon.
Personality: Though he recently lost one of his gym Pokemon, Darren has maintained an upbeat personality. He keeps himself fully alert now during battles however, not daydreaming as his Pokemon beat the opposing trainers Pokemon. He has learned his lesson there. He is very, shall I say, charming, in his own way, for that of a slightly older trainer. He likes to flirt, and he'll flirt with anything that moves.
Darren also has a way of being full of himself, which is something that he needs to work on not being. He has an ego, which is easily punctured. When this happens, he just kind of clams up and refuses to speak. However, it doesn't take long for him to get over himself. Which is a good thing.
• I Am What I Own •
Items: Peeh, not really, other than his personal Pokemon team.
Pokemon: Gym: Sealeo, Pelipper, and Psyduck. Personal: Ampharous, and Torkoal.
• How I Became Who I Am •
Family: Michelle Marks [deceased when he was two] and Robert Marks [the father that he never knew]. He was raised by his grandma Carole, who died when he started his Pokemon journey at ten.
History: Darren's father was not around when he was born. He was born in the Hoenn region to a mother who was, more or less, a drug addict. His mother died when he was two, so he doesn't remember her. His grandmother, Carole, raised him until he was ten, and he decided to leave home then. He got his first Pokemon, a Mareep, when he left home. She has since evolved into an Amphoros, and one day he hopes to train her and Rein side by side in a way that will make them a powerful combination. However, for now he is content with training her with his Torkoal.
Back on track, Darren was not exactly heart broken when the ninety year old woman who had raised him for eight years died. She was old after all. She was the only family that Darren had left though, and so he paused in his travels for a bit to "grieve". He started up again with Amphy, Koal, and Rein in his possession, and he was quick to catch Pepper and Ducky. The latter three are now the Pokemon that he uses for gym battles, and the former two, his first two, are his personal team. The first three Pokemon are the ones he has trained the longest, and are therefore the highest level. Ducky is the lowest, and Pepper is kind of just...there.
Other: Hmm...nope!
Other Characters: Kari Stone-Trainer and Minnie Dark; Civilian.
