Sydney is on the short side for someone his age. His height stands somewhere around five feet and ten inches. He's also a little bit chubby, with a weight of two hundred and ten pounds. He tends to keep a rugged look, even though he's a clean individual. When the weather gets a little colder, he tends to sport a large winter coat instead of his pink Tye-dye T-shirt.

Sydney is a very lazy person. He hates doing anything work related, and has hired an assistant to to take care of all gym-related things that have nothing to do with battling. He does this because while he is lazy, he has a lust for battle that will snap him out of his laziest period. Another thing that will snap him out of his lazy period is food, as he is a bit fat.
Sydney can also be portrayed as a rebel; he is completely against rules, including Gym rules. This is why he doesn't have an official referee for Gym Battles, as he feels it's stupid. However, he is a kind individual all together. He honestly wouldn't harm a fly, and the only exception to this is during his battles. Even during battles, he will give encouraging words if the trainer is doing bad.

History:
Sydney was born in the same town that he is currently the gym leader. He was born in Woodland Town to a stay-at-home mother, and a Gym Leader father. As the only child, Sydney was pretty spoiled, and rarely disciplined. This lead to his laziness, which his parents didn't really notice until he started to get older.
Up until he was sixteen, Sydney did nothing but lounge around the house all day, having no interest in Pokemon or anything else. While he was sixteen, his parents decided that they'd had enough of his lounging around. They pretty much forced him to go on a journey, and they flew him to The Lab and told him not to come back until he got the first three badges. At first Sydney was upset, but after being introduced to the wonderful world of Pokemon by the professor, he fell in love.
He decided to go on the journey, and when he returned he would be able to battle his dad to keep going. After a few months, and his birthday passed which caused him to turn seventeen, Sydney had built up a decent team and returned back to Woodland with all three badges. Unfortunately, upon his return he found out that his father had passed away, and the gym needed a new leader. Sydney decided that since he couldn't battle his father, he could battle in his father's shoes.
For twelve years, Sydney battled as the Gym Leader with three of his father's Pokemon, and one of his own that he obtained on his own journey. He has developed a strong relationship with all of these Pokemon, and now continues to battle on behalf of his late father.
