Name: Siobhan -- that's my character's name, haha. XD
New or Old: New! I've only just got Siobhan approved.
Experience: Hmmm. I think I have five years or so of roleplay experience, but for the last year-or-a-half I had a hiatus, so I'm probably a bit rusty... >w< Experience-wise, I've modded a few sites, but I've never played a Gym Leader before, so I guess I'll be inexperienced in that aspect. I'm willing to learn, though! :>
Why you: Eh... I guess, when you put it in that way, there's really no reason why I, and no other person, should deserve this spot. I suppose I just wanted to help the site spring back up, so I thought I might take a less-important, but still essential, canon character? >w< Besides, I had this idea which sounded interesting to me, so I thought I could put it into practice. :>
RP Sample: This is a sample from somewhere else -- I hope you don't mind! XD

"'Scuse me!"
"Sorry!"
"Coming through!"
Elbowing her way through the crowd, with apologetic glances directed at the poor people she had to push aside, the girl struggled to keep her eyes on the little orange blob in the crowd. That blob, she had to admit, was doing its damned hardest to avoid her, twisting, turning and dodging through the rush of people. She had already chased it through half the town, one park and at least three dark alleyways, but Thor showed no sign of relenting. In fact, as they neared the beach, the Torchic seemed to realise that he would be boxed in if they ended up on the sand, and was putting on a final burst of speed. Lia followed, grim, tight-lipped, sweat beading on her forehead. She wasn't about to lose her starter in such a... ridiculously stupid manner.
An ice-cream cart foiled Thor's plans. Skidding to a halt, the tiny bird growled a bird-curse as he realised that the mountainous vehicle was pretty much blocking his only exit. The hell-maiden was closing in; he couldn't afford to waste time finding a bypass. With another growl, he darted off sharply to the left, reluctantly coming to terms with the fact that the beach might be his last chance at freedom. His trainer -- not that he would admit it, no way -- narrowly missed colliding with the cart; giving the owner and his customers a garbled apology, she shrugged off the offended glares sent their way and pelted after Thor.
The pair raced down the winding track, Lia out of breath already, Thor still going strong. I'm definitely out of shape, thought the girl between gasps. Time was, I could run the entire way to Dad's lab without stopping. Biting her lip in determination, she willed her leaden legs to move faster. She would not allow her starter to escape her field of vision. As the beach came into view proper, she all but flew off the last stone step and landed in the sand with a soft thump. It slowed her, and Lia pulled a face when she felt grit in one of her sandals. Fancy naming them "sandals", when they didn't do anything to keep it out!
But if it was bad for her, it was definitely worse for Thor. The small bird only managed a few stumbling steps before he tripped over a muddy patch, sending him to a sprawling stop in an undignified pile of sand, seaweed and damp orange feathers. A few futile struggles told him that he wasn't getting out of here without help -- certainly not in time to evade his owner. With a resigned squeak, he flopped down and waited for Lia's arrival.
"Whew! F-Finally gotcha!" Wheezing, the girl barely managed to stop herself from following her Pokemon into the sand. Windmilling her arms for a moment, she caught her balance and squatted down, peering at Thor warily. "I'll get this... ah... seaweed off you, if you promise not to run."
Thor replied with an extremely impolite phrase. Thank goodness that she couldn't understand Pokemon-speech.
"So, how about it? I don't know why you feel the need to run, but trust me, you'll be safe with me." She carried on, cracking a grin. "Look, we'll make it kinda a partnership if you want. You stay and fight for me, alright? Or, if you don't want to, we'll see if we can manage elsewise... but no running off alone, okay? I don't want to go around offending half the region, haha!" With an embarrassed laugh, Lia made to untangle her Pokemon from the pile of debris he was in.
/Now look here, girl, I don't give a Noctowl's hoot about you and your 'half-the-region'. And I can certainly fight. I'm just worried about you and your touchy-feely actions,/ the Torchic pointed out, cooperatively lifting a foot out of a seaweed loop. /I've got a feeling we wouldn't grow up to be best friends. Why don't you just let me go and -- look, I'll even steal another starter for you from the lab if you want./ Getting to his feet, he shook the sand off his feathers, disgruntled that he was now both damp and dirty. /Trust me, you don't want to stick with me./
