The day was bright, the sun shining down upon the city as the crowds hustled this way and bustled that way. Amidst them was a young man who did neither, he flew. Dashing in and out between the people at high speeds on his custom built roller blades, Takato sped down the street and up on various places that he saw were prime objects to pull tricks off of. As per usual, his Pidgeotto was flying right beside him, weaving in and out of the people just as his master did.
The two were quite a sight to behold, pulling off aerial tricks one after another, both of them just having a great time. It was easy to tell that the boy was having fun because of the large grin on his face and the laughter that he emitted while still in the air. Sure all of the tricks weren't enormous, in fact most of them were still fairly small, but they were still big enough to give him a thrill.
Now if he had been out in the wild, he would have allowed his Ponyta out to do some running, but the streets were just a bit too crowded for the little girl to run about. Not to mention the fact that her flames would easily cause a lot of things they passed to randomly combust, and he just didn't have the funds to pay for the damage she tended to cause. After all, she was still a naive little pony. Hmmm, he would just have to make sure to bring her out for some play time once they left the city.
In fact, he believed that he would do just that, but the moment he made the decision, his stomach began to growl. With a bit of flair, he puled another trick off of a nearby stoop and took a flying leap off of it. After a mid-air trick that involved him holding on to his blades with a hand and rotating a few times, he stuck the landing going backwards, and allowed himself to slow to a stop. "Hey Tsubasa, I think it's chow time." he said as his Pidgeotto landed on the stoop he had just catapulted himself off of. "What say we go find a nice place to eat and play so Hinote can join us?"

The day was one much too gorgeous to be stuck inside a gym hall all day. So Marion had taken the liberty of the day off. It wasn't like there was anyone to make a challenge on the Elite Four. Infact, there hadn't been any challenges in weeks. The other members had all been able to take days off and head out into town, so why couldn't she? Leaving a sign on the plateau door, she left her number in case anyone did happen to appear for a challenge (though significantly unlikely). Her Machamp waited patiently for her to finish her official business before scooping her up in two of his arms, carrying her in the direction of the city.
The pair had decided to head into the city for lunch. With the Star Festival in full swing, the city would be bustling with people celebrating, heading towards the pier for a shot at some games, the chance to win some prizes in addition to all the regular people out on the streets, shopping, heading to work. The streets were full, difficult for a Machamp carrying a women to move through. Many of the city regulars recognised the pair, waving and smiling, others looked at her with looks of disgust; like she was lazy, having her pokemon carry her everywhere. It did get her down and she sighed heavily. But she barely had time to dwell on the thoughts as a sharp gust of air brushed past her face. Looking up in time, she just caught sight of the boy on his blades as he flew past. Unluckier for Machamp, the wheels of his skates clipped one of the arms of the fighting type.
"Machamp...leave it..." the woman tried to soothe, stroking his arm. But the pokemon wasn't having any of it. <No Marion, he has to be taught a lesson. He could have seriously injured you.> The Machamp had very little concern for his own well being but Marion and her safety was his life. They had been partners since he was a young Machop and she was fresh out of surgery. Turning in the street, he followed the trail of the boy and his pidgeotto. He slowed as the boy stopped, talking to his pokemon, oblivious to the presence of the woman and her fully evolved partner until he felt the heavy hand of Machamp on his shoulder. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Complete. Rather than answering his question about food, the pidgeotto began acting strangely. The bird pokemon swooped down just as the machamp put one of it's muscular hands on Takato's shoulder. The thing about Tsubasa, Takato's pidgeotto, was that it was severely loyal to his master, and would take on a pokemon stronger than himself just to protect him. Being as the bird didn't know why the larger pokemon was there, his immediate reaction was protective mode as he flapped his wings as fast as he could, trying to make it hard for the machamp to see, as well as to make himself look bigger than he really was.
Completely dumbfounded at the situation, Takato turned to see a rather pretty older woman being carried by the machamp, and his first reaction was to flash her a smile and to give her a little wave of his hand. Doing this ended up serving two purposes: first was the intent, which was simply to say hello - the second was that once Tsubasa saw that his master was unafraid, he backed off and instead perched himself on the boy's other shoulder. Reaching his other hand up to the bird, he stroked his beak anf the feathers on the top of his head. Now that the commotion had settled down, it was apparent that Takato took very good care of his pokemon. His Pidgeotto may not be very large, but his feathers were glossy and almost perfect as far as appearance, his eyes were a sparkling amber color, and his talons, while sharp, were being held in such a manner that they did not pierce the flesh of the shoulder upon which he was perched. Such obvious care was definitely the work of a breeder, and any high ranking trainer would be able to spot it immediately.
As for the reason he had been stopped by the machamp, he still didn't know, he only hoped they would let him know soon since he really was quite hungry - something made apparent by the second loud rumble his stomach made. With a bit of a grin and embarassed laughter, he grabbed his stomach and said, "Heh, I was just on my way to get something to eat, what's up?" It was about the only way he knew how to ask what interest they had in him.

The erratic flight of the pidgeotto was of little concern to the larger fighting type, with one of his free arms, he waved the bird off from in front of him. He could understand the birds feelings, to protect its master. He felt the exact same way towards the woman he cradled in his arms. To ensure her safety at all costs. That was why he couldn’t let the pidgeotto get in his way, for Marion’s sake (as much as she often despised the babying – being a thirty year old woman). Marion could only smile weakly up at the boy, her face flushed with embarrassment over Machamp’s behaviour. She knew he meant well, he always had from the day they became partners, but there were often times he took his duties too far. She could see clearly, the immaculate state of his bird, that he was a good boy – loyal to his pokemon, willing to put the time, effort and care into them that a trainer should and not recklessly endanger other people and pokemon. Though looks could be deceiving, from her first impression of him, he seemed friendly and honest in his actions.
”What is up? Is that all you have to say?” the Machamp frowned. This boy, carelessly racing through town, could have seriously injured many people and all he had to say was what’s up? Certainly not! He would be having none of it. ”Do you not realise the consequences of your actions? You could have seriously hurt people – especially Marion”. The woman could feel the veins throbbing in his arms and decided to intervene. Sliding herself gently from his arms, she struggled upright. “I’m sorry for him sir. He means well” she apologised with a small smile.
Grasping for the Machamps arm, she held herself on her feet as well as possibly though visibly uncomfortable and struggling with the pain. ”Forgive me for asking…but that thing you were doing, what is it?” Marion asked, referring to the inline skating tricks he pulled – “They were wonderful”. Her eyes lit up with an desire and intrigue, a feeling reminiscent of the days before the accident. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Sorry so it is very late and uninspiring.
