Janessa wandered into the next route, called Crystal Lake Path- and she really liked what she found. It was one of the most beautiful places she had ever seen! And the lake was gorgeous. This route had been very accurately named. She grinned and strode forward, walking around the lake and enjoying the scenery. Ahh, it was a nice day. Although, it could be warmer... there were a lot of clouds in the sky, which blocked a lot of the sun's warmth from reaching little ol' Janessa. As a matter of fact, those clouds didn't look too nice... they had a greyish tint to them, and they seemed to be getting darker.
Oh well. If she got caught in a storm, that'd be an awesome experience. She didn't mind rain and thunder and lightning- in fact, she loved all of those things! She almost hoped that it would start storming. Of course, that would mean no swimming, but that would be okay. She hadn't really planned on swimming... maybe some other day, though.
Janessa decided not to release her Pokemon yet. Last time she was out and about in the wilderness, her Skarmory, Ganbaatar, had been really quite frightening to the wild Pokemon. She wanted to see how wild Pokemon would react to her if she didn't have a five-foot metal bird following her wherever she went.

The weather just happened to be perfect for a male Trapinch, whom was curiously wandering around one side of the lake, after taking a drink. For the msot part the little creature hadn't been bothered by any trainers. It was still young, and hadn't been out and about much away from it's parents, so got a little frightened at time. However it was also a curious little thing and liked to watch people as they passed by with their pokemon. Today he'd been searching for food, and had been happily sat by the lake when Janessa strolled on by.
The orange critter lifted it's head to watch, skulking away slightly as it parted it's zigzagged jaw. Now this little Trapinch was not the smartest of creatures around, and if it were it would have run away or hid a little better, but it wanted to have a little sniff around, so very carefully it began to creep towards the trainer, it's short legs carrying it quite slowly, at a measured pace, as it did not want to startle the human, or any tamed pokemon she might have hidden at her belt. No, he wanted to be cautious.
The Trapinch stopped a little way away, standing cautiously as it's beedy little eyes watched her. It was hard to tell what the little creature would do; if it would remain stoic like it was now, or suddenly attack. However, he was not the vicious type, and really just wanted to see what the human would do - at the same time it was cautious enough to not go all the way up to her.

Janessa didn't notice the Trapinch at first... but it certainly was a good thing that she was walking slow, otherwise she might have tripped on him! Luckily, she noticed him a few feet before she would have stepped on him. She smiled at the little guy- he was so cute! Of course, she thought that about almost all Pokemon... but that was completely beside the point.
She knelt down slowly to try and seem less intimidating. The little orange fellow seemed to be just a bit worried... or frightened... or something along those lines. She didn't want him to feel nervous around her.
"Hi little guy..." Janessa said softly, watching the Trapinch closely. Right now the wild Pokemon seemed somewhat calm and docile, but she didn't want to have any fingers bitten off, so she was going to be just a little bit cautious about this encounter. Those were some powerful jaws on that little guy, she just knew it...

Trapinch watched warily as the human approached, tilting its head to the side as she came closer and closer. He stepped back just a little with his short legs, but didn't move too far. The human seemed friendly enough with the tone of her voice and her body language, and he couldn't see any threatening pokemon lurking about, so he didn't worry too much, though ofcourse he remained on guard just in case. Really he was a curious little bugger and he'd never been this close to a human before. He'd seen them, but not so closely.
The pokemon remained where he was for a little while before taking a step forwards towards her, lifting his head and sniffing, as if for food. He came to stand by Janessa's knee, still staring up with his little black eyes and surveying her closely. The little fellow had been alone for a long time now, so it was nice to have company that wasn't about to try and eat him, which had happened on quite a few occassions. He just hoped that this trainer had some food for him, because sometimes it was hard finding any for himself. He was just little afterall.

Janessa kept her eyes on the Trapinch as it investigated her, watching it curiously. Was it sniffing her? No, it didn't really sniffing her in particular... but it kind of seemed like it was sniffing, searching for something. Was it hungry? That was definitely a possibility. But what did she have for a hungry little Trapnich to eat? She had no idea what Trapinch ate. Bugs? Berries? Meat? Veggies? Hmm... she had just a little bit of food in her pack, more for her snacking purposes than for feeding hungry little wild Pokemon. She might as well look, though, to check it out...
Moving slowly so as not to startle the cautious little Trapinch, Janessa sat her butt down on the ground and eased her backpack off of her back, setting it down in her lap. Every once in a while she glanced at the wild Pokemon, wondering how it was reacting to her. She opened the bag and searched through the contents to see if there was anything that might interest the Trapinch.
Bread, apple, beef jerky, peanuts, and a granola bar. "Hmm." Janessa muttered to herself as she looked at her collection of edibles. She decided to try a couple pieces of the beef jerky first. She opened the little plastic bag that her food was in, and pulled out a couple small pieces of the beef jerky. Then she slowly stretched her hand forward, offering it to the Trapinch. She just hoped that it didn't bite off her fingers.

The male Trapinch found the female to be rather interesting, and so not only was he searching for food but he was interested in looking at her a little more as well. He was quite young, so he'd not yet seen a lot of human trainers yet. Usually he was far too frightened to go any closer to one, but this human girl seemed gentle and sweet and she wasn't making any movements that really frightened him, so he had no problem in going any closer to her. He was still on edge ofcourse, but was no longer very afraid or any thing. Being cautious was enough.
His beedy little eyes watched as the female reached into her pack, and the scents of all sorts of food wafted in through his nose. His parted his jaw a little more, a nod towards his hunger as he suddenly felt even more famished, his mouth watering the slightest. When the female offered the food he took it without hesitation, chewing it with his zigzagged and sharp teeth until it was easy enough to eat. Usually the critter ate things like berries and seeds, but he was happy eating any thing else as well at the moment.
When he was finished eating, and after having been careful not to injure Janessa's hand with his teeth, the pokemon nudged his head forward and against her hand, pushing forward with his short front legs in order to get close to her. This was his way of saying thank you.

Janessa smiled happily as the Trapinch took the food from her hand. And what made it even better was, she even got to keep all of her fingers! Then her smile widened as the wild Trapinch rubbed against her hand. She assumed that he was saying thank you, or something along those lines. Whatever he was trying to communicate to her, it was a good thing.
"What a cute little guy you are." Janessa commented with a soft happy laugh. Gently, she rubbed her fingers against the top of the Trapinch's head, wondering if the wild Pokemon would like being pet and rubbed like some Pokemon do. "I wonder, would you let me catch you and take you with me? Or would you rather stay out here? Do you even know what I'm saying? I sure wish that I could understand your language..."

Like most Pokemon, Trapinch understood quite well what Janessa was saying to him. If truth be told, he was curious about what being a trainer's pokemon meant. He hadn't really spoken to any of them before, so he'd never gotten to ask any other pokemon. This isn't to say that he wanted to go with Janessa, but he was certainly curious about it. She'd given him food, so she was apparently nice. Maybe she'd pay him a lot of attention to and he'd be able to explore the world with her, and go to lots of different places. It would certainly be an adventure.
The creature tilted his head to the side, his mouth still parted and his eyes directed up at the human as he watched her closely and carefully. It was clear that he was listening to her speak, and that he was curious about it all.

(Its okay. ^_^)
Janessa sighed as she watched the Trapinch stare curiously at her. 'I wonder what it is thinking about...' She thought as she stared back at the Trapinch, probably with a similar curious look on her face. 'Well, if he understood me, then he at least doesn't seem appalled at the idea of becoming my Pokemon. But that is IF he understood. It seems like he understood... he doesn't look confused... but maybe that's all in my head. Hmm.' She thought, crinkling her nose slightly as she began to confuse herself.
"Would you mind if I sent out one of my Pokemon?" Janessa asked the little Trapinch, hoping that it was capable of understanding her. "Not to battle... unless of course you want to... but just to talk and whatnot. Obviously a fellow Pokemon could hold a conversation better than me." She smiled slightly and waited for a response, shivering slightly at the chill in the air and glancing up and the darkening clouds.

Trapinch understood the female fairly well, as it happened, though he was still making up his mind on whether or not he wanted to go with her. She did seem nice, and as if she might take care of him, but he didn't know her at all, really. It was fair to say that he was just a little wary and needed a little more convincing. So far the female had done a good job of making him feel more comfortable around her, but that wasn't enough just yet. It would be a good idea for him to converse with one of the female's pokemon, so that he could ask a few questions and decide what he wanted to do.
As such, when the female asked him if he would mind if she let one of her pokemon out, the critter tilted his head so far that it was almost horizontal, and then a moment later he moved even closer to her still, directing himself towards where she kept her pokeballs, and nudged her with his round head as a sign that he wanted to see her pokemon.

Janessa watched the Trapinch carefully as it listened to her words and then began moving towards her. She smiled as stretched towards her pokeballs, and then nudged her as a response to her question. She laughed softly. "Okay." She responded in a voice just barely louder than a whisper. 'Let's see... the most sociable Pokemon that I have so far is probably Pyro. The other two are a bit gung-ho and battle-prone.' She thought as she gazed down at the three pokeballs that contained her team. Then, moving slowly so that she didn't startle the wild Trapinch, she took Pyro's pokeball off of her belt and then released the Growlithe that was contained within.
After the red light faded, Pryo appeared, sitting and looking around at his surroundings. This didn't appear to be a battle situation... his trainer was sitting on the ground and there was a friendly-looking Trapinch standing close to her. A small smile appeared on his face, and he decided to speak to the Trapinch. <'Ello there, little orange fellow.>
Janessa was glad that Pyro didn't immediately go into battle mode, like she suspected her Skarmory and her Makuhita would have. "This little guy just wanted to talk to one of my Pokemon, since I don't make very good conversation, what with me not being able to understand the Pokemon language and all." She explained to Pyro, who nodded and grinned an even wider, toothier grin as his thoughts were confirmed.
<Fantastic.> Pyro responded enthusiastically to Janessa before turning back to the Trapinch. He stretched and then layed down, crossing his front paws over each other. <Did you have questions? Or did you just want to discuss the weather?> With that smart-aleck comment, Pyro looked up at the darkening sky. <Hm. Rain. I can smell it.> He muttered, making a slightly unhappy face. He was a fire type, so obviously water didn't make him overjoyed.
Janessa watched as Pyro spoke with the wild Trapinch, biting her lip and once again wishing that she could understand what they were saying. She and Pyro weren't all that close since they hadn't been together for very long, and Pyro was a known trickster, so she wasn't sure what Pyro would be saying about her or the others.

((Not too sure you get experience points, unless your battling ... I'll check with Bella ))
The Trapinch waited, stepping back only when the red light appeared and out came a pokemon. It tilted it's head the other way, studying it in silence and sniffing out it's scent before taking a few steps towards it. "Hello." It responded, it's voice betraying his youth. A tiny smile made it's way through the creatures large mouth and he sat down to get more comfortable. "I just wanted to know what your human is like? She seems nice enough." Trapinch wanted to know, so that he could make up his mind.

( Oh, okay. =O I thought it was whenever your Pokemon were interacting with other wild Pokemon. Dx Well, I'll keep track of it for now just in case, and then if she says no EXPs unless battling, I'll modify my posts. =D )
<Oh, little ol' Janessa here? Well, now.> Pyro responded with a grin, looking from Janessa ro the wild Trapinch. <She saved me from the Adoption Center. Bloody boring, that place is. Ha!> He crossed his paws in front of him and layed his head down on top of them. He decided to try and play it nice with this little guy, instead of tricking and pranking and joking and teasing, like he usually did. This wild Trapinch was obviously very young, and it seemed like Janessa was fairly interested in having him join her team. And of course, he wanted what Janessa wanted, because she was a good person.
<Janessa's great. Tons of fun. She takes us all over the place, and we can battle and explore. Do you like battling? I like battling well enough. And her other two Pokemon loooove battling. Ganbaatar and Nero are their names. Interesting Pokemon, they are.> Pyro babbled, hoping to make a good impression.
Janessa, meanwhile, was retreiving an empty pokeball from her bag. She hoped very much that Pyro could help her to convince the cute little Trapinch to join her team. And so far, it seemed to be going well. She watched with a small smile as the two interacted, twirling the small red and white sphere in her hand as she waited, feeling somewhat impatient.

((yeah it's just during battleing otherwise people could have their pokemon out all the time and get points that way lol like myself - ashie has her growlithe out constantly. btw sorry i'm being so slow. i should be a bit quicker repsonding now, but if not, then just poke me every couple of days and i'll get here as soon as possible )) Trapinch was a very impressionable little guy. He'd been seperated from his family for a little while now and had given up hope looking for them. It was a scary place in the wild all on his own, and he was looking for someone to look after him, and to play with. This Growlithe seemed nice enough, and it's trainer was kind as well, and Trapinch was seriously considering joining her, of she would have him ofcourse. He would love to go all around the place though, and be able to see new things. Plus having some company would be great. He listened to the puppy pokemon as he talked about the things they did, and what appeared to be a smile spread across the orange creature's large mouth. He looked a little restless, but in a good way. "Do you think she'd like me? I think I want to go with you guys ..." He said, sitting back on his hind legs and tilting his head to the side. "I don't have anywhere else to go, and I lost my mummy and daddy. I like your human though." He was a sweet little guy, really.

(Okay. ^_^ Well then, just totally ignore those EXPs~)
Pyro smiled a toothy smile of satisfaction. He'd done it! He'd convinced the Trapinch to join the team. Oh, he would definitely be getting some treats from Janessa because of this.
The Growlithe chuckled slightly.
"Oh, I'm sure that Janessa would like it if you joined the team! The more, the merrier, eh? Or something like that. I'll tell her that its okay to catch you/" Pyro told the Trapinch, standing up and wagging his tail happily. He trotted over to Janessa and nudged the empty pokeball that was in her hand. He grinned at her, and she grinned back as she quickly realized what her Pokemon was trying to tell her. The Trapinch wanted to come! Awesome!
Janessa stood up and smiled joyfully down at the Trapinch. "Okay, buddy. I'm glad that you want to come with us!" She told him, sounding quite excited. She pressed the cenhter button on the pokeball to enlarge it.
"Don't worry about the pokeball, I don't know if you've seen one before, but it doesn't hurt." Janessa reassured the wild Pokemon, right before she gently tossed it at him.
