General Appearance:
being a male, jace's body is naturally going to contain high amounts of testosterone. this hormone has managed to make the man's face appear sharp and angular in certain places, particularly his jaw. a square shape underneath tight, olive skin, jace's jaw gives him a very masculine look as they come together to form a very sharp chin at the base of his face. his skin is clear of blemishes and smooth and creamy in texture. that is, on a good day. however, on those bad days that come more often than he likes, when the weather is particularly dry, jace's skin becomes dehydrated very easily. this gives his skin an ashy texture and appearance, which is very unattractive and very unacceptable. because his skin condition is so spontaneous and can be severe, jace caries three special moisturizers with him at all times - one for his face, one for his body, and another for his feet. he won't ever admit to carrying these around and always finds a way of applying them in private. his eyes are angled upwards and are narrow, resembling the small amount of oriental blood that run through his veins. there's a peculiar element to jace's eyes that enhance his look of mystery. normally, they both appear to be the same shade of slate blue-grey.

and normally, when peoples' eyes change color, both of them do. But that isn't the case for jace as his left eye fades to a lighter tint of almost gold. This usually only happens when his eyes are submersed in water, whether it be from a shower, swimming, or even crying. That is, if you ever catch him crying. behind full, rose-tinted lips are two rows of perfectly straight and white teeth, their wonderful condition all thanks to the many years of agony jace suffered through regarding braces, cavities, root canals, and the like. this has made his lips appear very relaxed and settled on his face as they are barely used for speaking or expressing anything more than a scowl. his hair also helps to give him a unique and basic look, a mop of light blonde on top of his head. from the moment jacd was born, the locks on his head have faded from a light whiteish to that of blonde it was when he was five years old did his hair color start changing, and although his father was alarmed by it, he soon learned that it was hereditary and nothing strange was going on in jace's body. always having his hair shaggy since he was ten years old, jace had earned the rightful image of "the boy with the blonde mophead". a simple ruffle with his hands and a brush to the right is enough to have his hair completely styled for the rest of the day.

while those are generally the physical aspects of jace's face, it's necessary to explain the emotional depths that can only be expressed through his face, particularly his eyes. although jace is anything but an open book, his eyes have been known to deceive him on numerous occasions, but only to those who know him well enough to keep eye contact with him and decipher what is occurring within. very few human beings have actually gotten around his stubborn aloofness, so it's mostly his pokémon who can see right through him the best.

standing at a staggering 6'2", jace's face isn't the only thing that is intimidating about his looks. along with a slight muscular build, particularly in his arms and legs, he emanates a very tough aura that regards him as unapproachable. while he may not have an almighty 8-pack, he does have a nice set of pecs and slight indents that hint at a possible 4-pack. and although he doesn't bench 250 everyday, he benches enough to leave a slight bulge of biceps along his arms to show that he is quite capable of defending himself and/or his pokémon if the situation called for it. strong calves and thigh muscles carry him everywhere, therefore they are the muscles he relies on the most. but once again, another element that jace takes special care of is rarely flaunted. his skin is sun-kissed, a soft olive tint against his face, arms, and chest. lack of sun has caused his legs to appear lighter in colour, not necessarily considered pale, but simply lighter in hue. dozens of pale scars infest the tight skin along his forearms. Long ones, short ones, thick ones, thin ones, ones crossing over each other, others forming two parallel lines along his arm, etc. there are fewer, but thicker, darker, and longer scars along his biceps, more on his right than on his left. a very apparent, very pale scar can be seen along the base of his neck, running down from behind his ear to the top of his left collarbone. though it's not very thick, the contrast of the colour against his dark neck make it very visible. because of the frequent questions he is asked about his scars, instead of simply ignoring them like he used to, jace chooses to amuse himself by making up stories. although his stories are far from the actual truth, nobody but his beloved pokémon know that, and they wouldn't dare betray him in his time of keeping his past private from eager ears. however, there is one thing that jace always makes clear that is 100% true about his scars - none are self-inflicted.

as previously mentioned, jace doesn't like to flaunt the muscles that he has. to hide the ones built along his arms, he wears long-sleeved garments such as sweaters, vests, and jackets. he does take them off occasionally when he expects to get down and dirty or when the weather is just too hot, but otherwise he wears sleeves that extend down to his wrist and are just big enough to mask the shape of muscles underneath. however, this isn't because he's shy, but to prevent wandering eyes from seeing the scars that were previously carved along his skin. as for bottoms, jace chooses to wear jeans above all. simple and easy and comfortable is his fashion sense, so he could give a rat's ass if it's stylish or not.

Personality: if anything, jace is... confusing. he is a friendly guy. he loves to get to know people, ask questions, talk about anything but himself, and make friends. it isn't very hard to befriend him: just don't get on his nerves, and you'll be fine. honestly, though he may enjoy making friends, he never had many close friends. for the most part, people have always enjoyed being with him when he was around, but never really wanted him to be there for them all the time. to be a brother figure of sorts. he'd be the first one to wander over to a stranger and introduce himself. he's sort of the friendly kind of boy that any mother would simply fall in love with.

while he may appear to be little mister happy on the outside, inside, jace suffers from a lot of inner turmoil. he can't stand his family, so often times he'll do whatever he can to forget about them until something smacks him in the face that reminds him of them. he also despises some people and never says anything about it; just watches and nods like he's listening to something when they're around. jace, when angered, will wander away from anyone around and go plop somewhere far away. his anger can get out of hand, but no one has ever seen him get that way. for the most part, when he isn't feeling like himself, he'll stay out of other's ways or give his Pokémon time to relax. training often makes him feel better, as does breeding.

jace is one to have many likes. music is one of his many passions, and his guitar is one of his favorite possessions. he likes many simple things in life, such as rain and the stars. rain is one of his very favorite things. its peaceful solace is unsurpassed by anything else. and the stars honestly show how small a person really is. If everyone looked at them each night, the world would be a better place. the beach isn't one of his favorite places in the world, but he would rather be there than anywhere else. everyone feels small when they stand beside a deserted ocean, whether they realize it or not. dislikes? he doesn't have many. people that are stuck up and think they're supreme have always bothered him. death is one of his least favorite things in life, as it always leaves a certain air of loneliness and depression behind it. extreme heat and extreme cold, as well as family, are the only others things he despises. his Pokémon, or partners in crime as he calls them, are important to him. without them, he would simply stop working toward any goal he set for himself.

History: how does one come about becoming such a person as jace? what went through his life that caused him to be so clingy, yet bubbly and enthusiastic when he wasn't worried about losing someone dear to him? well, originally, he was born in the large town known as goldenrod city. he was the son to a lowly maid employed by a rich radio station owner...who also happened to be his father. the maid and rich man had a little scandal, and got a bit too intimate, leading to jace's birth. some say he's a bastard child, his mother said he was a surprise. when jace asked what that meant, she would reply with, “that means i didn't know i wanted you until i actually had you.” that would always warm his little heart. he loved his mother, even more than his father. though all three of them were living in the same large mansion, jason—the father—was rarely around. he was mostly around the world, promoting his radio station and showing up at ritzy ceremonies. apparently they were a lot more important than his actual family, if you could even call it one. on the bright side, he recognized jace as his son... barely. sure, jace was always dressed in the finest clothes and treated like a prince, but that was as close to attention as he would get from jason. allisyn made sure to keep Nicholas humble and kind; money was not going to ruin this perfect child's mind. she didn't want him blinded by green like jason.

and boy were jace's eyes kept open. after a long and monotonous argument, he went to a public school as soon as his education started. it was the best way to interact with kids like him, his mother argued. not stiff little brats that expect to naturally be treated with respect. jason thought otherwise, but gave up, realizing how stubborn allisyn was. that's always how it ended; allisyn wasn't jason's girlfriend or wife, she was his maid, his servant. he didn't have to take the stuff she dished out.. one day he finally realized that. it was the day jace developed his separation anxiety disorder. jason fired allisyn; just like that. now, just because jason wasn't in jace's life all that much, didn't mean he didn't love him very much. he hated it when his parents fought, but that was nothing compared to this. allisyn clung to her son, refusing to leave the premises. she cried as jace sobbed in her arms, begging his mother not to leave. not bothered in the slightest, jason ordered security guards to remove allisyn from his land. and removed she was, kicking and screaming. that was the last time jace saw his mother in person. one day, though, jason had to go to court with allisyn in order to get custody of jace.

who do you think won? jace lived with the neglecting jason for the remainder of his childhood. but he wasn't the same. he caused a lot more trouble around the house and didn't follow any of the rules that had been around since his birth. no one actually figured this out, but it was because jace wanted attention from the only parental figure in his life. his mother was out of his life, she didn't even exist anymore to him. he was constantly told by jason that she was a nuisance that had to have been tended to. upon her removal, jace was switched to private school and was treated like every other rich child, but he didn't like that, nor want it. what his mother taught him still clung to his conscience dearly. he was not superior to others, he was a human, just live everyone else. why did he deserve special treatment? hed up with the neglect and unwanted royalty, jace planned his escape at the age of seventeen. he had considered running away for a while now, but never really took the time to formulate a plan. until now. upon reading an ad in the newspaper, he discovered the star region. he always had an adoration for the pokémon that ran around his father's garden and elegance, so why not? his mind made up on the spot, jace ran away, never to be seen again by his father in order to pursue a random dream. he became the breeder his father would never be. and the kind of person his mother would be proud of.
