Name: Salazar Maximillion Sparda
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Status: Trainer
• On The Outside Looking In •
Hair: Bluish-white
Eyes: Gold
Scars/Markings: A birth mark of a black and unusually-detailed Rayquaza on his right arm, which he hides with long sleeved shirts and/or jackets. There is also a huge tattoo of a dragon on his back, which his foster father branded him with before he was taken away by his true father. On his face are two pairs of smooth violet marks on his face which are positioned under his eyes and extend a millimeter from his ear from each side of his face to right at the end of his eye near the side of his nose. There is also a purple crescent moon birthmark on his forehead that no one aside from his mother-who has the same mark- knew how it got there.
General Appearance: Salazar excludes a powerful presence that reeks of nobility and command, despite how he was raised for most of his life. This is because of several factors. First off is his height, which is an impressive 6’5”. Combined with his slim and powerful and defined musculature, his figure alone is an imposing sight. Second off are his eyes- a molten gold that usually conveyed only an acerbic coldness; any other emotion is rarely conveyed because he had been taught by his father not to reveal anything via his eyes. His hair is a stark bluish white, which gets attention no matter where he goes along with his eyes, handsome face, and markings. His fanged teeth give a feel of wildness that does not match up to his elegant and pompous façade though.
He often prefers to wear silk pants along with a long-sleeved Chinese-style silk shirt. He may also wear a hakama or black slacks with a long-sleeved polo shirt which may be red, black, white, or blue. His shoes are normally just combat boots unless he is in a hakama, in which case he would switch to fancy wooden slippers. No matter what clothes he uses, he always wears the this amulet on a silver chain along with gloves. A staff is also strapped to his back, right above the black backpack he brought along to Star.

Personality:
When one is faced with Salazar Maximillion Sparda, that person or pokemon would get an immediate sense of powerful yet graceful arrogance. This attitude is present in his words, movement, and mannerisms. This powerful pride implies an ‘unspoken superiority’ over most other people. That effect is something Salazar had learned from his father and mastered into an art form unlike any other. This is only helped by his bluntness, which amplifies the image of his arrogance and makes him much harder to like. Even though his arrogance is a weakness, it is also strength, mostly because he uses it to enrage his foes to gain an advantage.
Salazar is an aggressive and stubborn individual. He usually knows what he wants and he will stop at nothing to get them, no matter whom or what gets in the way. This has gotten him into trouble much more than once, since he usually does not know when to give up. This form of burning passion and almost mindless dedication to a goal was literally beaten into him by his step-father, Jack; it was also one of the few things that his true father and his relatives on his father’s side encouraged, believing that.
This aggression and drive comes from the fact that Salazar was raised to be a warrior and a hunter- a tool to the exclusion of almost all else for over half his life. Jack pulled out all the stops on him, even to the point of abusing him physically and mentally at a very young age all in the name of ‘training’ and ‘fun’. Therefore it is not surprising that he carries both a tiny bit of respect and a very deep sense of hatred for his foster father.
Another trait is his patience, which went with his stubbornness. His patience actually surpasses that of a regular adult, which is not surprising given what he had endured back in Mt. Coronet at the hands of his previous martial arts masters and his step-father Jack. The most he’ll react to most forms of teasing is a scowl and a raised eyebrow… unless you threaten anyone precious to him. Woe be to any that do, for he has no tolerance for that kind of shenanigans… or being accused of being gay or womanly.
Despite being blunt, he’s actually nice and chivalrous to other people and pokemon. He just prefers to do acts of niceness then leave, since he usually doesn’t want recognition if it’s not a battle. It’s more of an ingrained behavior from his time after murdering his step-dad, where he left everyone and everything was after him because he did something terrible.

History: Long before the invention of the first pokeball, there once were a people who had managed live with pokemon while respecting them and the balance of nature. They were a peaceful people who dedicated themselves to the protection of their homeland as well as their art. These people lived on Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh, where they believed was the place where everything began. Thus, they believed that the great Arceus slumbered here, leading them to worship the entire mountain as some sort of deity.
However, over time the teachings have been warped and corrupted with the passage of time and the influence of greed and pride. Soon, these people began to think that they were above others- pokemon or human- and declared themselves the chosen ones, reviling any sort of contact with outsiders. This belief soon disappeared when their resistance was crushed bitterly by another, more powerful tribe in Sinnoh who would have annihilated them if they did not have a use for said victors.
As such, said tribe on Mt. Coronet tried to find anything that would prevent their extinction… and found one by hunting down rare pokemon, giving them away to appease their masters. Thus, this once proud people were reduced to a bunch of hunters for the victors, who later became the main funders and owners of the notorious Team Galactic.
In time, they were corrupted by their jobs and began to love it… becoming more of monsters than their masters ever were. They were molded into the perfect servants and hunters for their masters, born and bred to only serve them. Of course, they hated this treatment but over time they grew to accept it and their role as servants.
They were Salazar’s ancestors from his mother’s side. Salazar himself was born out of one particularly festive night where one of the masters accidentally raped a particularly beautiful servant and conceived him. Of course, after said man- Miguel- found out she was pregnant his father had that girl sent away to the most distant reaches of the mountains so that his peers would never know of his slip-up and his shame, so that he could preserve his reputation. Miguel himself never agreed with this decision, but he had to abide since his father was the head of the household.
Thus, Salazar was born in a rural settlement, with his mother accepting an engagement to Jack Fenris- a man that she hated and that lusted after her beauty- in order to keep it all a secret. He was then raised in the way that men of the Fenris tribe were raised… meaning that he was raised as a warrior and as a poacher.
Jack knew that the boy was not his, so he took every pleasure in beating up the child and disguising it as training whether he was drunk or not. He also made the boy know very well that he was adopted but that he was not allowed tell anyone about that or of his treatment of him or his mother would suffer for it. Of course, Salazar loved his mother and simply took the abuse quietly. His mother knew about her child suffering… but she couldn’t defend him from the wrath of his husband
Of course, Jack had to keep up the charade as well so he had to brand the boy at the age of 11 and gave him his first tattoo at the age of 11. Those were marks of honor and meant that the boy had passed the rites to manhood, something that Jack was loathe to give but had to because he earned it… and Jack always kept his word. However, that didn’t mean that he didn’t enjoy every single bit of pain that the process evoked.
Of course, Salazar always hated hunting and poaching pokemon. It felt dishonorable… but he had no choice. It was that or be beaten by Jack for being a pacifistic sissy. Eventually Salazar got sick of this, and on a night of celebration he killed his step-father after he had accidentally mortally wounded.
Two years after this, Antonio Sparda Sr. died of mysterious causes. This not only meant that Miguel would take over a huge part of what his father owned as his inheritance, but it also meant that he was free to finally look for the woman and their son that Antonio Sr. sent away over 12 years ago.
Unfortunately for Miguel, when he had finally tracked down the woman and her husband Jack, he only saw their graves. From what he had heard from reliable testimonies, Jack killed his wife in a fit of drunken rage, which prompted Salazar to kill him in a fit of fury as well and run away after that. The boy had been pushed too far after over 13 years of borderline abuse by his stepfather, and now he was on the run from them in order to avoid answering for that sin.
This only made him more determined to look for his son. For another year he looked everywhere in the land of Sinnoh, never catching more than a glimpse of his son. This is because Salazar made sure to stay a couple steps ahead of his pursuer, unknowing of his benevolent intentions and believing only the worst. He was afraid that he would have to pay for the murder of his torturer.
After a year though, Miguel cornered him in the cemetery his mother was buried in back in Mt. Coronet. Although it took a while, Salazar was eventually convinced of the truth… of the sin Miguel had inadvertently committed and the mess his grandfather made in a horrible attempt to fix it. In the first step to fixing relations between them, Miguel offered- more like forced- Salazar to come back with him.
Salazar found that extremely hard to forgive and forget. It took two years for them to truly reconcile and for Salazar to be accepted in the clan of Sparda. During that time, Salazar rested and recuperated from his year on the run, and was taught a lot of things that Jack neglected to teach him, both good and bad. One of the most important things he learned was the appreciation for travelling and freedom.
It was this lesson, along with a newfound love for pokemon and pokebattles that came when he read all sorts of books and watched all sort of shows about it that drove him to become a trainer. Instead of starting in Sinnoh though, he decided to go a new region he had heard about- Star region. He had already travelled most of Sinnoh, so he wanted to explore a new region.
His father reluctantly let him go on the journey, on the premise that he always called home. To make sure Salazar remembered, his father Miguel gave him a special amulet that had been the heirloom of the Sparda clan for generations. Once he prepared all the stuff he would need for the journey, Salazar set off for an entirely new adventure.
