Scara rubbed her head profusely, trying to no avail to stop the throbbing pain in her head. Last night had been a bad night. It had been a very good night but she had been very bad. There was very little she could remember after the 7th bottle and this morning's early wake up call was doing nothing to soothe the hangover. The message had been left on her machine, ordering her to collect a pokemon from the lab. Despite being twenty five, she had never had a pokemon. She had grown up around them, but there were always other things that grabbed her attention before pokemon did.
She pushed open the door slowly, doing her best to let it fall gently back into place but it slammed as soon as she let it go. With a loud whine she gave up, clutching her head and moving over to the woman at the desk. "Hey gorgeous. I'm rough, so whaddya say you make my day?" she said with a smile, making no effort to hide the remnants of her drunken night. "I wouldn't have felt so bad if you were there last night, tell you that" she added, shameless in her flirting. She wasn't expecting a serious response, most of the Order were aware of her antics. The woman behind the desk looked up at the sound of the door slamming, a quiet sigh escaping her lips at the sight of who had entered. She wasn't in the mood to deal with someone so, well, she wasn't quite sure what the word was to describe Scara, but she just wasn't in the mood to deal with it. She rolled her eyes at the woman's words, and promptly turned about and made her way upstairs.
A moment later, a man in his early thirties descended the stairs. Professor Black appeared in a far better mood than his assistant, and came to stand before the female as he arrived, "What can I do for you?" He asked.

The woman's rejection meant little to Scara; she was a fickle and frivolous creature when it came to love and moved on easily from person to person. "Thank yoouuu!" she called after the woman with a smile and a little wave. "Good morning Professor!" Scara greeted, offering her hand to shake as he came down the stairs. "Handsome as ever this morning".
"I was wondering if you could help me with a pokemon" the red head asked, fishing around in her pocket for the message she received. "You know how it is, the man wants jobs done". She hadn't really given much though to the type of pokemon she wanted. Her throbbing headache made thinking about anything a struggle. Racking the darkest corners of her brain, the lady decided on something. A type that would be useful both inside and outside of battle. "Have you got any interesting Flying types in?" ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Complete. Sorry it's rubbish, lazy today. The Professor couldn't help but allow a smile at Scara's attitude. Unlike the woman who had not been in the mood to deal with it, he personally enjoyed it. To most he came across as a rather uptight person, but that was simply because his interactions with new trainers were mostly business, not social. Scara made them feel like they were, even if her flirting meant nothing.
"I can." He replied, turning and making his way over toward the counter to the right side of the room, behind which rows of pokeballs could be seen, "And I do. However, do you want a pure flying type? Or would something that eventually evolves into a flying type, or a mix, say like, a dragon type or a fire type as well, be acceptable?" He passed through the door, and reappeared behind the counter.

"Oh so many choices, you're spoiling me, Professor!" Scara cooed affectionately, following behind him over to the desk. As he disappeared through the door, she turned her mind to the choices. Pure flying, bird like pokemon were always a good choice, and there was quite a variety of them too. The possibility of a mix put her off a tad, merely because there was the highly likely chance she would end up with a bug type mix which she wasn't so keen on. Something that would evolve into a flying type had promise, but then there was the waiting. Rocking back and forth on her heels, her hand reached to her chin, stroking it gently as she pondered. "Fire and flying, you say? Oh a Moltres! You really shouldn't have, too good to me!" she joked, leaning on the counter waiting for him. "I'm kind of tempted by a pure flying type, but show me what you have". ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Complete Pokemon team: [/IMG] □ [/img] Word count: 158 Experience gained: None[/blockquote]

The Professor couldn't help a smile at Scara's exclamation. She really was quite the character. The man came about to lean on the counter, watching her approach. A quiet chuckle escaped his lips at her comment about Moltres. How he'd love to have that pokemon! If only there were in abundance enough to be given away as starters.
"Very well." He responded with a smile, turning about to face the rows pokeballs behind him. He scanned them, and made his way toward the right corner, where he crouched down to the mid-level, and inspected several of the pokeballs. At last, he stood and turned back to face her, "So as far as pure flying types go, I can offer you a Hoot Hoot, a Starly, or a Tailow. I believe I have a Pidgey too, if that appeals."
He glanced back at the pokeballs, then to her, before adding, "But if you're interested in any kind of mix, I can offer you a Natu, Murkrow, or Skarmory." He had a great deal of different types of flying pokemon, and as such was able to provide the woman with a large list.

"What have I done to deserve all these?", the lady squeeled with childish delight. Now to decide, the hard part. Off the bad, she discounted the Tailow and Starly from her choices. As pathetic an excuse it may, but Tailow was just....a bit too blue for her? Equally, Starly just didn't have "the look" she was looking for. Pidgey and Hoothoot very both good choices - as Noctowl and Pidgeot would make powerful partners, though as they were, pidgey were a little bland.
Next to go off the list was the Natu. The little green bird was adorable, but psychic pokemon were a bit beyond the control of the red head. Hence, why she hadn't asked for one in the first place. She felt she wouldn't be able to control them, and no doubt run riot with their psychic powers. Oh no, way too troublesome. Beside, her mind was often elsewhere and those thoughts were more often than not, not to be read. The same problem posed for Hoothoot, but those bird pokemon were usually a bit too stupid for their own good.
Skarmory and Mukrow were both very good choices. Though there seemed to be a bit of an influx of steel pokemon in the new trainers these days. Not one to be part of the trends, she - reluctantly - discounted the powerful steel bird.
"I've narrowed it down to two.." she huffed, unable to make a decision. It was down to the Hoot-hoot or the Mukrow. It was all down to the secondary choices now really. She her flying but did she was psychic or dark? Natu had proved a little too psychic, but could she manage a simple, dippy owl?
"Go on Professor, give me that cute little Mukrow you've got down there." she fianlly decided with an excited clap of her hands. As much as she was warming to the Hoothoot, it came down to the fact it would be easier for her to catch a Hoothoot than a Mukrow, and so the rarer of the two was her choice.

The Professor stepped forward, coming to use the counter to lean on while he patiently awaited Scara to make her decision. He knew that he'd given her a great deal of choices, and as such was prepared to wait while she went through them in her mind, coming to a decision one that would become a powerful partner for her in the future. He never rushed people when it came to deciding who would be their first pokemon. It was an extremely important decision. It didn't matter though, he was a patient man.
He nodded as she informed him that she'd narrowed it down to two. That was good. It showed how much consideration she was really putting into this decision, which was always nice to see. It meant someone was really interested in invested in their first pokemon, which was important. At last, she came to a decision, and announced that she would like the Murkrow.
The Professor smiled slight, and inclined his head in a nod of acknowledgement, "Perfect." He replied, turning about and securing the pokeball from the rows, and coming to set it down on the counter for her, "Murkrow currently knows Peck, Astonish, and Pursuit." He reached down below the counter and picked out a bag, which he placed down beside the pokeball, "In here are five pokeballs, five potions, four full heals, a map of Star Region, a berry bag, and a TM case." He paused before asking, "What color pokedex would you like?"

Thank you!", she called triumphantly, pleased to receive the Mukrow without trouble. The crow pokemon would make a powerful and trusted companion. Thoughts had already crossed her mind about raiding her savings. With a little luck, she could soon scrape enough money together for a dusk stone.
"Could I get a red one, please?" the woman asked, lips pushed out full in a pout and eyelashes fluttered wildly. Slinging the back of items over her shoulder, she picked up the pokeball. While she waited for him to fetch the dex, she freed Mukrow. In a flash of red light, the bird pokemon was released from its ball and sat calmly on the desk, preening its feathers. Scara couldn't help but giggle at the little pokemon, who seemed less interested than anything going on around him and more intent on making sure he looked good. "He's perfect, Professor" she said, smile beaming on her face. "Let me take you out for a drink sometime, to thank you." ---------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Complete Pokemon team: □ Word count: 166 Experience gained: None

"You're very welcome." Th Professor replied, as per usual feel the effects of Scara's excitement on himself. It had a tendency to make him feel like he wanted to act similarly to her, which was very different from his typical personality, which was much more reserved. He nodded in response to her request for a red pokedex, and crouched down behind the counter, searching a cabinet he opened for one of her requested color.
At last, he located one and straightened into a standing position, setting the pokedex down on the counter, "Here you are." He said, his eyes trailing over to the Murkrow who now stood on the counter. His attention returned to her however as she spoke to him, and he chuckled quietly at her suggestion to take him out for a drink, "Perhaps." He replied, "A drink with you sounds like it could be interesting."
