[Lucas Crystoff]

"Ugh. Dammit! I hate mountains so much."

The mountains were apparently mad at him, because Lucas was complaining about them a lot. "My feet are killing me walking on this dirt and crap all day! Ugh!" Apparently half an hour equaled a day in Lucas's mind. He was a good ways into the path when he decided to stop and take a break. He took a seat on the side of the trail, and released his two Pokemon. Gligar couldn't be happier, flying about with his acrobatic tricks and whatnot. After the white beam formed a Seedot next to Lucas, the Seedot looked at Lucas, then sat down next to him.

"Your not one of many words are you?" Lucas asked his companion. Seedot turned to Lucas, stared at him for a few seconds, then turned back to watch the Gligar. "Guess that's a no..." Lucas sighed, and wiped the beads of sweat falling from his forehead. "Let's just...chill here. At least for a little while. Get some rest before we continue on this trail." Lucas said. "Gligar!" Gligar called from the skies, and the Seedot nodded.

(I'm stalking you. o.o Actually, we don't have very many mods who actually like to... moderate wild pokemon threads... and stuff. xD)

Resting had pretty much no chance of actually happening, because as the trio decided to stop for a rest, a lot of yelling and shouting began just a few feet away from where Lucas had stopped. There was a Vulpix, who was obviously not the source of the ruckus. She was merely sitting there, looking annoyed. The actual culprit was an obviously angry-looking Chimchar, who was spouting off many embers at the Vulpix. And the reason the Vulpix wasn't doing anything to defend herself was her Flash Fire ability- she was merely absorbing all of those embers and growing more and more powerful. Which obviously ticked the Chimchar off- it was a never-ending loop.

Lucas was closing his eyes, leaned against a rock and drifting into a nice afternoon nap when he heard Pokemon cries. They were right next to him, and this prevented Lucas from just ignoring it and going back to sleep. So, he decided to do the only thing he could do; investigate. Lucas turned to his Seedot, who was leaning next to him. "Gligar's up in the sky, and I'm honestly too tired to bother yelling to him. Let's go see what's up." Lucas got up, wiped his forehead again, and walked in the direction of the noise. Seedot followed quickly behind Lucas.

They looked around a rock to find two Pokemon arguing. The Chimchar was getting furious and spewing flames at the Vulpix, who was merely sitting there, not taking any damage. "Hey, hey! What's wrong!?" Lucas tried to scream over the both of them. Seedot stood by, ready just in case the two Pokemon decided to attack his trainer.

The Chimchar and the Vulpix both looked over at Lucas as he called out to them. The Chimchar glared and crossed his arms over his chest. The annoyed look that the Vulpix used to have faded away, and she smiled slightly at the trainer. "Oh, when this little Chimchar gets angry, he needs a punching bag. Unfortunately, he picked the wrong punching bag this time. My lovely Flash Fire ability makes it so his favorite attack, Ember, doesn't do any damage at all." She explained, sounding quite amused by it all. The Chimchar pouted and his glare deepened, but then he spotted the Seedot. Perking up slightly, he stared at the grass-type, knowing that he could quite easily beat a Pokemon like that Seedot...

Seedot stared at the Chimchar glaring at him. This intense stare off was getting him pumped, and Seedot started jumping up and down. Seedot had a fighting spirit, and battling was something he loved very much. Lucas was listening to the Vulpix, then turned to his Seedot, who was having a glare-off with Chimchar. He looked at both Pokemon, then smirked and looked at Vulpix. "I think my Seedot here can teach Chimchar a lesson." Lucas backed away from the two Pokemon engaged in a stare-off, ready for battle.

"Alright Chimchar, I think you should take out your anger on someone else!" Lucas called out. "Seedot, let's show 'em what we can do!" Lucas called to his Seedot. Seedot jumped from one leg to the other, an angry look in his eyes. He had a passion for battle, and he was ready to show it. Gligar looked down from the sky and noticed how a battle looked like it was about to take place, so it swooped down and landed beside Lucas, He looked at Seedot, and cocked his head to the side. <Seedot's first battle with Lucas. I hope it'll be as awesome as my first battle!> He thought to himself. Lucas turned to Gligar, smiled, then turned back to Seedot. "I believe in you Seedot!" He yelled to his Pokemon, whom was fired up and ready for battle.

The Chimchar chuckled evilly as Lucas and the Seedot both seemed eager for a battle against him. This was juuuust perfect. He knew for a fact that he was stronger than the little seed Pokemon- plus, he had a nice type advantage. "Chim, Chimchar..." He mumbled with a vicious, toothy grin on his face. <This will be a piece of cake...>

The wild Chimchar took a couple steps towards the Seedot, and then began spouting flames at it- like the Vulpix had stated, Ember was this wild Chimchar's favorite attack. And when he was battling a grass-type, his favorite attack was definitely a good choice.

The Seedot stared at Chimchar's mocking words and smirk. If he really thought this would be easy, he would be in for a big surprise. "Alright, get ready!" Lucas called to his Pokemon, whom nodded. The Chimchar stepped forward a few feet then tilted it's head back. It then came back up, spewing embers at Seedot. "Dodge!" Lucas told Seedot, knowing a hit from Ember would cause his Seedot to take massive damage. Seedot jumped backwards, barely avoiding the flames."Alright, Harden then Bide!" Lucas commanded.

Seedot nodded, then stood completely still. A silver aura formed around him, and his defenses increased using Harden. The silver Aura that had engulfed him then turned white, as Bide was now the attack in effect. Standing there, the Seedot would have waited for Chimchar to make a move. However, he wasn't sure if Chimchar was smart enough to wait for Bide to wear off before attacking. So, he had to try and make Chimchar attack. <Come on, you wuss! Bet you can't faint me!> Yelled the Seedot. Now, this Pokemon was not usually one of many words. But this was just one situation that called for it.

Lucas nodded at Seedot's strategy, hoping it would work. Gligar laughed at the Chimchar who was getting made fun of, then flapped his arms and took to the skies. Once a nice enough height, he slowly bat his arms to hover there, as he wanted a higher angle on the fight that was commencing.

The Chimchar grinned as the Seedot used Harden and then Bide. <Oh please, I do know something about battles.> He mocked, doing a little spin. <You raise your defense, but not your special defense... clever... How much do you want to bet that I can't faint you in two attacks?> The Chimchar taunted, bouncing back and forth from leg to leg. He was obviously emjoying himself very much at the moment. He spurted little embers- not aimed at the Seedot, just randomly spurted off as he waited and waited some more for the Seedot's bide to wear off. In his impatience, he burned the stubble of grass beneath his feet, leaving just a bunch of ashes. He laughed at the sight of the dead plant, and then looked up at the Seedot, obviously imagining his opponent to be in the same sort of situation.

Lucas frowned as the Chimchar shot a few embers around Seedot. Apparently even when the Seedot was enraged he could still think logically. Seedot continued to hold Bide for a few more seconds before Lucas stepped in. "Dammit...Seedot, stop using Bide." Seedot turned around, confused as to why he could stop. He could keep going, keep on trying to get Chimchar to attack. But if Lucas wanted him to stop, he would oblige that request. Seedot nodded, and the aura that had surrounded him had slowly diminished. Lucas nodded, and turned to the Chimchar.

"Hmm.." Lucas reached into his back pocket, and pulled out his Pokedex. 'Maybe the all knowing Pokedex has information that could helped me.' He flipped open the device and pointed it at Chimchar, hoping it would help him somewhat.

'Chimchar, the Chimp Pokemon. It agilely scales sheer cliffs to live atop craggy mountains. Its fire is put out when it sleeps. The gas made in its belly burns from its rear end. The fire burns weakly when it feels sick.'

"Thanks. That really helps..." Lucas said sarcastically. He closed the Pokedex and placed it back into his back pocket. He then turned to his Gliscor, who was flying about in the sky. "No. Seedot needs experience. Gliscor is freakin' evolved. He's strong enough." Lucas sighed, and turned back to his Seedot. "Don't do anything Seedot. Just wait..." He said with a sigh. He had a strategy in his head, but the only thing he could do was prey that it would work.

The Chimchar blinked, looking at Lucas as the human ordered his Seedot to stop. What was going on, exactly? Lucas seemed to have a little debate with himself, and then he told his Seedot to simply wait. Without doing anything. Just wait. What? This didn't make any sense to the Chimchar. He sensed that trouble was afoot... but he was opportunistic, and this was an opportunity. His enemy was just standing there. So...

Ember, of course! Lots of little burning hot embers tossed towards the Seedot. What else could the wild Chimchar do?

Lucas watched as the Seedot and the Chimchar seemed to have a stare off for a few seconds. Was the Chimchar going to attack? Lucas was starting to get impatient, and his Seedot was jumping from one foot to the other, waiting for the Chimchar to do something. Or for Lucas to say something. Either way, the Seedot was getting restless. This was supposed to be a battle, not a staring contest. He was really getting anxious, and if Chimchar or Lucas didn't say or do anything soon, Seedot would take it into his own hands to make a move.

Finally, the Chimchar decided to attack, spewing embers all over the place. "Just what I wanted. Seedot, stand your ground!" Lucas called out to his Pokemon. Seedot was a little worried, but planted his feet into the ground and braced himself for the impact of a super-effective hit from Ember. "Don't worry Seedot, be brave! Hold your ground!" He reiterated the same thing he said before, which slightly annoyed Seedot and almost caused him to say that he already said that. But at the moment Seedot was too focused on the flames headed his way to pay attention to anything else.

Seedot suddenly realized what Lucas was going to do, and closed his eyes, ready. "Alright, Bide Seedot!" At the last second, a white aura coated the Seedot, and the Embers hit him hard. Ember was super-effective against Seedot, so he took a lot of damage from the flames. However, that's just what Seedot and Lucas wanted. "Alright, now release it!"Lucas yelled, pointing at Chimchar. The white aura turned an orange-red color, and a powerful beam of that color was fired right at the Chimchar. The Ember was super-effective, but if the beam hit then Chimchar would be taking twice that amount of damage. Ouch.

As the wild Chimchar realized that the Seedot had used Bide at the last minute, a look of 'oh crap I'm gonna die' crossed his face. He squealed and attempted to dodge the burst of energy that the Seedot fired at him, but unfortunately, he was unable to do so. The beam knocked him over, right onto his back. The Chimchar swiftly struggled back to his feet. He was obviously very, very hurt, but he was too angry to notice. Full of rage, the wild Chimchar spit ember after ember at the Seedot, not pausing for anything. Obviously, this Chimchar wasn't a very gracious loser.

Lucas raised his fist into the air, a look of joy and excitement filling his face. "Yea Seedot! Way to go!" He chanted. Seedot was breathing heavily; that attack took a lot out of him. He still managed to turn to his trainer and give him a happy look though. "I think we're good, maybe now I can catch this guy!" Lucas reached into his pocket and pulled out a small Great Ball. He pressed the small button in the center, and the empty ball enlarged. Just as Lucas was about to toss it, the Chimchar quickly got back up, giving Lucas a look of disbelief.

"Are you serious? That should have been twice the damage of a super-effective ember! How did he get back on his feet?!" Before Lucas could continue his little rant, he saw that the Chimchar was getting furious, and preparing for another attack. "Seedot, come back! I can send out Gliscor! You don't have to battle anymore, your hurt!" Lucas called to his Pokemon. But the Seedot did not budge one inch. "Seedot!" Lucas called. He really didn't want Seedot to get hurt, but apparently Seedot had other plans. Seedot turned to Lucas, a look on his face that said 'I can do it!'. Sighing, Lucas nodded at his Seedot, clenching his fist and hoping his Seedot wouldn't be hurt too bad.

When Chimchar finally released another Ember attack, Seedot was ready to fall over and faint. But there was something driving him; something was giving him the willpower to keep going. Lucas almost chuckled and shook his head at how stubborn his Seedot was when it came to battling. As the flames got closer and closer to Seedot Lucas called the attack. "Bide, let's go!" Lucas said, pointing at Seedot. A white aura formed around Seedot, and he planted his feet into the ground to brace for another impact from a super-effective ember attack.

Once it hit, Seedot started to grunt and shake, almost falling over. However, he managed to stay on his feet until the attack was over. <This is for you..> Seedot almost started to chuckle at his trainer's confusion as to where Seedot was getting his determination to go on from. He then let out a loud "Seeedooot!", and after the aura changed colors to a red-orange color, Seedot fired the beam at the Chimchar once more. Seedot was still there mentally, but physically Seedot's body couldn't handle any more of the strain. After the beam was fired, Seedot toppled over and fainted.

"Seedot!" Lucas yelled, running over to his Pokemon. Gliscor quickly flew down to Seedot, wanting to make sure he was ok. Lucas knelled down and picked up his Seedot, hoping he hadn't hurt himself too badly. Seedot opened his eyes for a moment, let out a weak "Seedot", then closed his eyes again. Lucas smiled, took Seedot's pokeball out and recalled his Pokemon in a red light. "You deserve some rest" Lucas said as he placed the pokeball back into his pocket. He then turned to the Chimchar, and if it was fainted he would stand back up and softly toss a Great Ball at it.

The Chimchar probably would have fainted even if it had only been a weak little leech life attack from a wimpy level three Zubat. The Chimchar was exceptional at giving absolutely no sign whatsoever of how weak he was feeling.

The powerful Bide attack sent the little Chimchar flying backwards, landing behind some rocks and trees. There was absolutely no movement after he landed- there was no way the Pokemon could have survived that attack. Actually, he couldn't really have survived any attack after that first bide attack had hit.

The Chimchar was absorbed into the great ball easily, and the little sphere container only gave one shake before an audible click signalled a successful capture.

(In the games, this would have been one of those annoying situations where the enemy is hanging on by one HP, and then faints you. xDD)

Lucas stared at the Great Ball, hoping that the Chimchar wouldn't still be up for fighting. He was most definitely a strong Pokemon, and would be a very worthwhile addition to Lucas's team. After one click, the Great Ball stopped to shake, and Lucas raised an eyebrow. After he wondered how a Pokemon that put up so much of a fight gave in so easily, he realized he had caught a new Pokemon. He realized this was his first real catch, seeing as how Seedot agreed to join him.

Lucas walked over to the Great Ball and picked it up, staring at it for a few moments. He then reached into his pocket with his free hand and grabbed Seedot's Pokeball. He then stared at them both for a moment, wondering how they would interact when they were released. He sighed, and put the Pokeballs back into his pocket. He turned to his Gliscor, motioning for him to follow with his hand. Gliscor nodded and took into the air. He didn't go high though; he was flying at about eye-level with Lucas, and was right behind him as Lucas started to walk down the path.

~Later that evening...

Lucas had stopped in a small cave carved into the side of one of the mountains. With the help of Elekid's Thundershock and Gliscor's...wood-finding skills, they managed to build a decent fire. Lucas was relaxed, and decided now would be as good of a time as ever to release the two Pokemon. He reached into his pocket, and grabbed two Pokeballs. He clicked on the little button in the center of each, and in a white flash of light Chimchar and Seedot appeared. They both looked around for a moment, and when they made eye contact, they wanted to go at it once more. They both headbutted, growling at each other and wanting a round two. After a few seconds though, they both flinched and stumbled back onto their behinds in pain.

"Hehe, calm down guys. Your both still hurt." Lucas chuckled, staring at the two. They were very a like; a lust for battle ran through both their veins. "You guys are teammates now, and you should treat each other like you are." The two Pokemon looked at each other again, and quickly turned the other way, making a 'Hmph' noise as they did so. Lucas chuckled and sighed. "Oh well. I tried.." He then remembered something. He went into his back and pulled out five rare candies. "I forgot I had these. I think I can make you both evolve!" Lucas said with joy. Both Pokemon got happy, but rushed Lucas to grab them first.

"Calm down!" Lucas said, holding the candies away from both Pokemon. They both sighed, and sat down, waiting. "Okay. Chimchar gets three, and Seedot gets two." He said, dividing the candies up between them. Elekid looked from the other side of the cave, and started to pout. <I want rare candies too!> Elekid made a fuss. "I'm sorry Elekid, but your already so big and strong. You don't need these." That was the ticket. Elekid shrugged, thinking what Lucas said was definitely true. He laid down on the cavern floor, and Lucas chuckled and shook his head. Gliscor was flying in the starry night sky, and returned to the cave when he noticed a bright white light emitting from the entrance.

When the bright light dispersed, in place of Chimchar and Seedot were a Monferno and a Nuzleaf. They were both now only more powerful, but they were both healed and feeling a lot better. They then turned to each other and headbutted again, growling and ready to go at it again. Lucas reached over to both of them, and put his hands in between their heads. He then pushed them back, and started to speak. "Ok guys, look. I'll strike a deal with ya. When you both fully evolve, I'll let you guys go at it again. But until then, your teammates. Act like it." Lucas removed his hands, and got up to walk to the entrance of the cave. The two Pokemon looked at each other, and turned the opposite direction with a 'Hmph' noise again.

Lucas was leaning against a rocky wall next to the cave. He was gazing the stars, wondering what his next move should be. "I guess the only thing to do now would be to challenge the gym." He scratched his head, wondering if his team was really ready for their first gym battle. He leaned over and peered into the cave to see four Pokemon sleeping against the cave walls. An Elekid, arrogant but strong. A Gliscor, childish but brave. And his Monferno and Nuzleaf, stubborn but determined. Lucas chuckled to himself as he continued to watch the stars.

"Yeah. We're definitely ready."
