Jai stepped out onto Crystal Lake Path, the route was beautiful, everything would of seemed perfect normally.Today however, there was one problem, a simple none the less but nothing could be done about it. there was a lot of black clouds in the sky, which blocked a lot of the sun's warmth, the clouds really weren't tempting however because everytime Jai looked at them they had gotton darker.

Jai shrugged and lay down on the verge of the lake. *oh well, If I get caught in the storm I really do not care, after all how could today get any worse?* Jai thought to himself as he removed his shoes, then dipped his feet into the water with a content sigh.

Jai smiled looking up towards the clouds he didn't mind rain and thunder and lightning- in fact, he loved all of those things! he looked towards Hellfire who had lay down next to him, he removed his pokeball from his belt and pointed it at his Houndour, "Hellfire return, as I said I don't mind rain, however I do not intend to force it upon you" Jai added, he watched as Hellfire was engulfed in a flash of red light.

Jai gave a depressed smile and the rain soon began, he watched the rain droplets hit the lake before him whilst he too was hit with the water.

Many pokemon had already taken cover from the storm they knew was coming. Others however, relished in the cold drops of water that fell from the sky. Two of these particular pokemon were currently playing chase around the lake's edge, enjoying the splashes of icy rain on their bodies as it soaked through their thick layers of fur, and to their skin. But they didn't mind, as their constant game of chase kept their bodies warm, and their minds occupied.

One was a Shinx, and the other, a Poochyena. They'd just met that day, moments ago in fact, but both had incredibly playful personalities, and made quick friends. They seemed oblivious however to Jai, much too absorbed in their game.

Jai continued to lay upon the cold grass verg, a small sigh escaped his lips however that sigh soon turned to a smile as he saw a Shinx and a Poochyena fighting on the otherside of the Lake, Jai stood quickly and casually walked towards them. Jai smiled both were very cute and it was a really heart warming scene watching them both play, Jai removed Hellfire's pokeball from his belt.

Jai grinned as he launched it into the wind "Hellfire go", Houndour was released in a flash of red light, he hadn't planned on allowing Hellfire to get wet, however catching on of these two was just far to tempting for him. He also could not capture them by himself so he had no choice, Houndour seemed to understand as it looked back at Jai before returning his attention to the Shinx and the Poochyena.

"Hellfire use ember on the .... Shinx" Jai asked, little bolts of orange amber flew towards the Shinx, Jai sighed *Luxray's not a Dark type ... so its got a dark apearance* Jai thought, with a small grin on his face he returned his focus to the Shinx before him.

The two pokemon slowed in their play when Jai approached. Both of them had seen trainers passing through the path before, but had never interacted with them, nor their pokemon. So both were surprised when the boy released his Houndour, and absolutely shocked when he ordered it to attack. They both scampered in different directions, nearly avoiding the flames.

The Poochyena continued on off, darting down the path, whilst the Shinx turned about, clearly infuriated by the attack. It didn't like that it had been interrupted when it had been having fun, and it wasn't about to let it go unpunished. The pokemon let out a roar of disapproval, and the next moment it's body lit up with electricity as it used Charge, powering itself up. Then suddenly he broke into a sprint, aiming to Tackle Hellfire whilst the electricity surged around his body. He was well aware that the water in the Houndoor's fur would also boost his attack.

Jai continued to watch as the two pokemonplayed, he gave a small sigh as they're play slowed when he approached them, Jai had always been a Luxray fan, whilst he also shared a like of Mightyena, He gave a small smile as he thought about a fully trained Luxray.

Jai then released Hellfire in the flash of red light, he then ordered it to attack, both Pokemon's attitude had changed they were no longer playful, cheerful a thrill to watch, they seemed abit intimidated by Jai he wondered if it was the fact he was a trainer or if it was his clothing sense, "Oh - well can't exactly ask them can I?" He muttered to himself with a faint smile.

Jai gave a sad look as he struck them both with the ember attack, he hoped he wasn't to harsh he just wanted to battle one of them, he looked down at his feet and realized he had left his shoes of the other side of the lake "great" he muttered to himself.

Seeing Jai wasn't paying attention they both scampered away, Jai was terribly disappointed up until the point where the shinx turned around, it let out a roar of disapproval, Causing Jai smile "Confidence is a great trait "he muttered as he look up and down the Shinx.


Shinx body then lit up with electricity as it used Charge, powering itself up. Then suddenly he broke into a sprint, aiming to Tackle Hellfire whilst the electricity surged around his body. He was well aware that the water in the Houndoor's fur would also boost his attack. Jai gave a rather panicked look he had forgotten about the environments effect on this match, the tackle struck Hellfire's side and it yelped and fell onto its side, Hellfire rolled back onto its paws as it glared up and down the small Shinx, Jai looked at it again using the environment to its advantage was certainly a smart move but something else had impressed Jai more, the fact it had decided to stay and battle rather then run for the hills." Hellfire use smog" Jai asked a black fog flew from Hellfire's mouth an if it hit the Shinx they re was a 40% chance of poison

Shinx felt its body connect with Houndour's, and it felt a rush of excitement as the battle ensued. He knew he was the smaller and most likely weaker pokemon, but he had the advantage in this weather. Houndour was also a fire type, meaning the rain would weaken it slowly. On the other hand, it powered Shinx's attacks, as water conducted electricity. Unfortunately, Charge was the only electrical attack Shinx knew, so it couldn't strike from afar.

Shinx immediately bounced back and away from Hellfire after his attack struck, prepared for a counter move. However, he did not expect the attack that the pokemon unleashed. The smog in combination with the moisture in the air made it very difficult to breathe, as it made the smokey substance even heavier. Shinx's coughs could be heard above the patter of the rain as it tried to clear its throat, an action it was momentarily distracted by.
