After leaving the lab, with his new partner in tow, Kyoufu headed straight for the first town. Of course, he had no intention of challenging the gym just yet, though he did stop to see that it was an electric type gym. His next stop was Sakura Forest, to both train and possibly gain a new partner. Sakura forest was quite a beautiful place to train as well. It was named after the dozens of Sakura trees that had been planted by the townsfolk. He also knew it was home to numerous pokemon.
As they neared the center of the forest, Kyoufu plucked his pokeball from his belt. Pressing the button in the center, it expanded, allowing him to release the pokemon inside. He knelt down before his charmander and look it in the eyes. "Alright, we are no where near where we need to be to take on the first gym, but that is why we are here. First I think you need a nick name, right?" He looked the young pokemon over, the first thing that came to mind was a salamander. "I've got it! I'll call you Sanshouuo."
Kyoufu stood and patted his newly named partner on the head, it was time to get started with their training. He looked around until he found a sturdy looking tree. He found the perfect one, a 20 foot Sakura tree with a 2 foot thick base. "Alright, first I want you to use scratch on that tree!" He pointed to the tree he had chosen.
After receiving his order, the young charmander sprang to life. He charged the tree, his right claw glowing white as he concentrated his power there. He struck the tree, causing it to shake slightly. Kyoufu ran over to examine the wound on the tree, there was a gash in the side aboutu an inch deep. "Not too bad, but it could still use some work." He chuckled and patted Sanshouuo's head.
