Zigzagoon Level 5 Pickup/Gluttony Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip Suddenly, an enraged little Zigzagoon jumped out of the bushes. It didn't really have much of a reason for wanting to attack- it just really felt like battling right at that moment. And Ito seemed like a good target... or whatever Pokemon he decided to send out. The little Zigzagoon growled angrily and stared at Ito, waiting. (Short, because... just because!)

Ito brought out a pokeball from his side. He didn't need any more reason than a pokemon in front of him to send out one of his own. "Roselia, bloom and flourish!" He called out, throwing the pokeball. The Form of a humanoid with roses for hands and leaves for a skirt stood in front of him. Her eyes opened and she let out a small "Elia" as she studied her opponent. It was a Zigzagoon..? There wasn't much trouble in this match up. "Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokemon. Zigzagoon restlessly wanders everywhere at all times. This Pokémon does so because it is very curious. It becomes interested in anything that it happens to see. The hair on Zigzagoon's back is bristly. It rubs the hard back hair against trees to leave its territorial markings. This Pokémon may play dead to fool foes in battle. Rubbing its nose against the ground, it always wanders about back and forth in search of something, often finding items. It is distinguished by the zigzag footprints it leaves on the ground in its wake. Ito looked back up at the zigzagoon before him. It wasn't something he'd catch, to be frank. "Alright, Roselia, let's go over battle tactics for now! The Twilight Tournament's coming up, and I want you on my team with Torchic and Mareep!" The pokemon smirked at the line-up of pokemon Ito had chosen. All the bases were covered nicely, not to mention there was power, status effects, and regenerative pokemon in the mix. Ito had spent quite some time on the line up and the Roselia could tell. "Roselia!" It called as it prepared itself. Taking in the sunlight through the trees, its special attack grew in strength before a constant stream of energy would come from the zigzagoon before her. It was only a matter of time before it would feint. As Absorb was doing its job, the Rosellia would only need to dodge and heal itself while Absorb took away energy bit by bit and replenished any she lost. All the while, her flowers let out an aroma that would relax the foe, make it less accurate, less energetic... almost like a muscle relaxant. It was a sweet smell, but benieth the aroma lay the Roselia's strongest weapon. Ito knew all the tricks that came with Roselia. He'd raised a few on the Daycare before as well as studied the evolutionary cycle of Budew and the changes it experienced when evolved into Roselia. He'd never seen Roselia evolve into its next form, but he knew it required radiation from a Shiny Stone. It was then that Ito had the idea. Roselia never learned solar beam on her own. In fact, none of her forms ever learned it, yet her flowers would be perfect for storing the energy and shooting it off accuratly in two directions at once. The thought racked Ito's mind as he stood there, thinking of how to make Roselia more effective in battle. Solar beam was a one shot deal requiring Roselia to spend a turn charging the sunlight. but it would be worth it...The thought kept squirming its way back into his mind. It was at this point he nodded and mentally set aside some twenty five hundred dollars into this asset which would be quite a pretty penny, yet so worth it. With growth, being a grass type, and having it be such a powerful attack as well as being able to upkeep the absorption of enemy health, it would be a fearsome combination along with her Stun Spores that would cause paralyzation and her poison thorns which would poison the opponent upon contact. Roselia would be the strongest status inflicter and grass type on his team, worthy to take care of the ground, rock, and water types they had a chance to run into. There were some types that were left unanswered in his team, but he covered the vast majority he had the potential to run into. He would be the champion, and there wouldn't be anyone to get in his way! * * * * * * * * * * WC|| 700 Exp|| 700

The Zigzagoon's eyes widened as it felt a strange tingling sensation. It was the Roselia's absorb attack that was causing the strange feeling... but after a moment, it began to hurt. Like his muscles were aching, and exhausted. The Zigzaggon was obviously not a very experienced battler- he seemed very nervous and not really sure what to do. He knew he needed to battle to get stronger, but perhaps he had picked the wrong opponent this time... Oh, well. There wasn't any turning back now!
The Zigzaggon began his turn with a growl attack- little did he know that it wouldn't do anything if the Roselia kept using special attacks like Absorb. Then, he charged forward- clumsily at first, but then he regained his balance and some of his determination, and the quickly picked up the speed as he aimed his body at the opponent, for a good ahrd Tackle attack.

"Hold your ground Roselia!" Ito commanded as the pokemon neared. The two would collide... however the roselia's arms would provide little cushion as the two collided into one another, the thorny stems to the flowers providing for a uncomfortable experience to say the least. The pokemon would find itself not only losing health through way of the constant absorb Roselia hadn't let go of, but also by way of the poison that may have spread into its system. To finish it all off, the collision had brought up a cloud of spores from Roselia's petals, the effect of the spores the most devistating of all. Not only could they Paralyze a Pokemon, but the muscles of the pokemon would be so relaxed that movement and control over motor movements would be dulled, slowing down the opponent and taking quite a bit off physical attacks. The Grass-Type recovered from the tackle and would start replenishing the energy she had lost from the attack. Pity the Zigzagoon couldn't compete, Rosellia was just on a whole other level as far as Species alone went. It would be like a Charizard cooking a Raticate, only this time sucking it dry with Status Effects, Abilities, and Special Attacks that replenished the pokemon's own energy over time.
"Great job Roselia, just a bit more!" Ito encouraged the pokemon. "You don't have to take the hit anymore, just let your poison, paralysis spore, and special attack finish it off. Keep dodging and you'll be fine!" It was a potent combination of moves he had learnd from a trianer who had passed by the Daycare. He would have called it his own strategy, but it really wasn't, and the dancing movements of the Roselia would be perfect in keeping it safe from being hit.

The Zigzagoon wasn't poisoned by the Roeslia's ability- however, that may or may not have been a good thing. The Pokemon was obviously losing, and so the lack of a poison status just made him last that much longer- a slower defeat. The stun spore did get him- he was paralyzed. He could still move, but just barely. He struggled violently against the hold of the paralysis, but all that resulted was the Zigzagoon took a couple of painfully slow steps towards the Roselia. He couldn't attack, or even move fast enough to dodge anything. He was hit by the absorb attack yet again, and made a small whining noise as he felt even more of his energy being sucked out of him. He fell down to his knees as he grew weaker, and glared at the ground in front of him. It was all that he really could do at the moment.

"Alright, Roselia, that's enough." Ito commanded. Roselia blinked and looked back at Ito as if to say 'The battle's not over yet, is it? He's not feinted.' "You don't have to feint a pokemon for the battle to be over. Besides, he's finished. He can hardly stand, let alone fight." He pointed out. Such was true, the Raccoon was breathing heavily on the ground, the Absorb ceasing, the Roselia reluctant to show mercy on one who wasn't on Ito's team, but willing to put up with Ito's command.
The teen walked over to the Zigzagoon. "That was a tough battle for ya, huh?" Ito asked, reaching to put his hand on the Zigzagoon's forehead, stroking down to its nose. It was still wet, no sign of poisoning. "Though, I don't think you really expected your opponent to be quite so different." He said, moving his hands down to the Raccoon's front legs. The muscles were loose, the aroma it inhaled doing its job well. "Well, I think I've found your problem. The Stun Spore got to you. Not going to breath that in again, are you?" He smiled, taking two berries from his pouch: a cheri berry and an orin berry.
"Here's a couple items for you to munch on. Compliments of the Forest!" He smiled as he fed the pokemon the special berries. He wouldn't be able to keep them long on him anyway, they often went rotten a day or two after they were picked. Ito ruffled the hair on the ZIgzagoon's head a bit before standing up. "That should do it. You shouldn't be fighting for a little while after this, but you should be fine otherwise!"
Hmm... perhaps it was lucky his father had been a breeder after all... he'd learned a lot about taking care of pokemon and preserving the wild pokemon even if they weren't yours. He was taught respect for his opponents and to hold legendary pokemon in the highest regard. It had never been his intention to catch the ZIgzagoon, but that didn't give him a right to cast it aside, feinted and unable to move to fend for itself out in the forest alone.
Roselia watched patiently as Ito tended to the hurt, nearly feinted pokemon, somewhat impressed in the way he was able to take such good care of it... and was even responsible enough to treat the pokemon even after it lay defeated. The grass type stood patiently until Ito was done. "Roselia!" It cheered happily as Ito walked back to it and put a hand on its head.
"Great job Roselia! You're gonna be fine in the Tournament, I just know it! We'll get you Solarbeam and you'll be set!"
"Rose!"
